The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have reunited, but unfortunately for them, it’s during a time when they’re locked up. In the new series by Jason Aaron and Juan Ferreyra from IDW, there’s been plenty of turmoil, with the turtles having their fair share of disagreements, and an unscrupulous district attorney exploiting the Foot Clan as his private police force. Readers have longed to see these Turtle heroes working together, and although we’ve merely caught brief glimpses, the excitement continues to grow. However, when they finally do reunite, it’s under extremely challenging circumstances.
In an exclusive sneak peek, ComicBook provides a glimpse at the interior pages of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10 by artist Juan Ferreyra. Additionally, IDW Editor-in-Chief Bobby Curnow offers a hint about the franchise’s upcoming developments. This follows the aftermath of Issue #9 where Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael end up captive in the Bronx Zoo, alongside their brother Donatello, having been apprehended by the Foot Clan. It seems that Raphael is experiencing a flashback to his time spent in prison, as scenes of him engaged in a fight within prison walls unfold before being brutally subdued by guards and returned to his cell.
As Raphael’s smile fades and a grimace takes its place, we find ourselves back in the present with the Turtles confined together. Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo are still healing from their battle, while Donatello chooses to meditate on the floor. In contrast to the discord that has marked their story so far, these four brothers seem genuinely pleased to be reunited. The teaser for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10 concludes with Raphael tenderly touching a deceased rat they’ve been carrying, which Leonardo believes is their late father, Master Splinter. In the final frames, we see the Turtles adorned in the unique outfits they wore during their individual one-shots, marking the beginning of IDW’s new take on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
