If you haven’t come back to Diablo 4 yet, Blizzard has just made it really easy for you to catch up and even try out the Spiritborn class for free

What you need to know

  • On November 19, you’ll be able to log in to Diablo 4 on the Eternal realm and claim a Welcome Back booster to instantly jump to level 50.
  • You’ll be given all new Legendary items, a completed Skill tree for your chosen build, and all Altars of Lilith will be unlocked as well as receiving a bunch of essential crafting materials.
  • November 19 also see’s the return of the ‘Red cloaked horror’ festive event, Mother’s Blessing XP boost, and the chance to try the Spiritborn class if you’ve yet to purchase the Vessel of Hatred expansion.

As someone who has been following Diablo 4 since its inception and played it extensively during the beta phase, this latest announcement from Blizzard feels like a warm embrace after a long hiatus. The Welcome Back pack for Eternal players is an enticing offer that seems tailored to those of us who took a break post-launch but are eager to rejoin the battle against the forces of evil in Sanctuary.

In the middle of Diablo 4’s Season 6, many dedicated gamers have wrapped up their battle passes and seasonal stories, making Sanctuary as peaceful as it was when Vessel of Hatred, the game’s initial DLC, initially launched. During a developer conversation on Tuesday, hints about upcoming content for the game were shared. Today, we have more comprehensive information, revealing that Blizzard is aiming to entice former players who might feel overwhelmed by the numerous changes the game has undergone since its debut, back into the fold.

Welcome Back pack for Eternal players

Commencing November 19, I, as a returning player, can log into the Eternal Realm and create a new character that will leap straight to level 50 with the Welcome Back pack. This might not seem extraordinary if you’ve been playing since the launch, but given that the maximum level is now 60 instead of 100, this is quite an advantageous start.

  • 1 million gold
  • 1000 Obols (currency to spend at the Purveyor of Curiosities)
  • 1 Scroll of Amnesia (an item that allows a free respec)
  • Craftiing materials

To enhance your character, visit Kyovashad and engage with the Fated Reliquary inside to unlock it. If you’ve already reached level 50 with an Eternal character, you’ll still receive Legendary items tailored for your class, along with build options.

Try the Spiritborn class without buying Vessel of Hatred

It appears Blizzard understands that returning players might not be sure about investing in the new DLC due to needing time to get reacquainted with the game. With this consideration, from November 19 to December 2, if you haven’t bought Vessel of Hatred yet, you can play the Spiritborn class for free up to level 25. However, note that this offer is only available through Battle.net, so console players and those using Steam might not be able to take advantage of it. If you decide to purchase Vessel of Hatred later, your progress will be saved.

Return of the Red-Cloaked Horror and Mothers Blessing events

From November 19, 1 p.m. ET until December 3, 1 p.m. ET, the ominous entity known as the ‘Red-Cloaked Horror’ – a recurring threat from last year’s Midwinter Blight – may make an appearance in Helltide instead of a Hellborne. You might encounter this terrifying figure not only in Helltide but also in Infernal Hordes and dungeons. Defeating him will yield rewards such as Cinders, Burning Aether, and more, depending on the location of the battle.

You can expect detailed information on the balance adjustments happening mid-season to be released tomorrow. However, the developers of Diablo have clarified that Spiritborn won’t see any changes at this time. Despite being much stronger than other classes, this is due to some unforeseen interactions that will not be fixed until Season 7. In the interim, they will be making adjustments to the other classes, and we’ll get more details about what’s coming up in Season 7 during another Campfire Chat on November 21.
