I’m Innocent!

Lori Vallow Daybell is speaking out for the first time.

51-year-old woman granted her first onscreen interview, speaking out after being found guilty of first-degree murder in 2023. She was convicted for the deaths of her son Joshua “JJ” Vallow and daughter Tylee Ryan, as well as planning to kill her husband Chad Daybell’s previous wife Tamara “Tammy” Daybell.

For Lori, who maintains innocence in all three deaths that occurred in 2019, she expressed that the media’s representation of her during the trial was entirely misguided.

Lori expressed to NBC Dateline’s Keith Morrison during their March 7 interview that the media tends to blow things out of proportion, invent facts, and distort information. She finds it astounding how the media has evolved into what it is today.

Expressing feelings of being completely misperceived, she posed, “What makes one think they truly understand someone after not engaging with them for half a decade? Can we really comprehend anything about their lives or experiences during that time?

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d rephrase it this way: Lori, who was convicted and given a life sentence without the possibility of parole for her involvement in a first-degree murder conspiracy and grand theft by deception related to the deaths of her two children, has consistently maintained that she wasn’t present when Joshua and Tylee met their tragic end. She emphatically states, “I was not there.” This situation unfolded under the influence of doomsday-focused religious beliefs shared by Lori, her late brother Alexander Cox, and Chad, who were allegedly the masterminds behind these heinous acts.

Additionally, the matriarch was assured that she and Chad, who was found guilty of three murders in 2024 and subsequently given a death sentence, would soon be declared innocent. She jokingly told Keith, “Once I’ve been cleared, maybe I’ll compete on , and you can join me.

Regarding Charles Vallow, Lori’s estranged husband who was murdered in 2019, she expressed positivity about taking on her own legal representation during the forthcoming trial concerning his fatal shooting. Despite accusations that she collaborated with her brother Alex to orchestrate this crime, she maintains her innocence. Notably, Alex passed away of natural causes in December 2019 and was never charged for this incident.

Nevertheless, the person from Idaho confessed that assuming the position of a lawyer has proven to be quite challenging.

Jury selection for the trial over Charles’ shooting is scheduled to begin March 31.
