At one stage, Quibi had been working on the project, but it ultimately didn’t see the light of day due to Quibi ceasing operations.
Later on, Prince shared some insights about the possible television future of the show, and fortunately, the project was still under development, even though a specific network or streaming service had yet to be determined. “I can assure you it won’t be at Quibi!” Prince stated. “Let me add that the Ice Cream Man TV series is certainly not dead. We’re eagerly waiting to share more information shortly.
That news morphed into the recent movie announcement. Given the anthological nature of the series, a TV show might actually hold together better than a movie…but in a race between Quibi and the guys responsible for Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, there really is no contest.
The comic book edition of “Ice Cream Man” from Image Comics has no connection to the 1995 horror film of the same title.
