In Case You Missed It, Hades 2 Is Not Coming to PS5 at Launch

Update [Wed 9th Apr 2025, 1:45pm]:

It appears that most gaming media have only recently noticed this, so I’m offering a helpful heads-up for those who might have missed it: The sequel to Hades, titled Hades 2, is set to be a timed exclusive on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.

In essence, it implies that you’ll have to be patient until the PS5 edition becomes available, similar to how we had to wait for the previous Supergiant Games roguelike release.

Regarding the project X, the studio announced that Hades 2 version 1.0 will be released concurrently across several platforms. This includes Steam and Epic Games Store as part of their Early Access program, as well as on Nintendo Switch 2 and the initial Nintendo Switch.

The question is: when will v1.0 arrive – and how long will the timed console exclusivity last?

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited sequel to Hades, the engrossing roguelike game, is making its way out of Early Access on PCs. However, before it hits other platforms, it will debut as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch!

According to reports from Mario Maker, the upcoming game from Supergiant is expected to leverage the advanced high-definition screen and fast, smooth action running at 60 frames per second on the new system.

It seems logical, considering that the original Hades was extremely popular on Nintendo Switch, and it wasn’t released for PlayStation until significantly later on.

It appears that Nintendo is preparing a lineup of exclusive games to be released at the launch of its new system. These include the new version of Yakuza 0, titled “Director’s Cut,” as well as the arcade edition of Ridge Racer from Hamster, the operator of Arcade Archives.
