View Urgent ForecastTonight at D23, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer, Pete Docter, unveiled that a third movie from a cherished series is under production – yes, you guessed it, Incredibles 3! While we don’t have many specific details yet, the news alone has everyone buzzing. The original writer and director of The Incredibles and its sequel, Brad Bird, will be back for this new adventure. Pixar hinted that Bird is working on the project, but they didn’t specify his exact role – though considering his past contributions to the franchise, it seems likely that he’ll once again write and direct the film.

The first two films from the Incredibles series are among Pixar’s biggest hits so far, but a new Pixar movie called Inside Out 2 has just taken over as the highest-grossing animated feature. Both Incredibles movies featured Craig T. Nelson, Helen Hunt, Sarah Vowell, Samuel L. Jackson, and Bird (the costume designer character), who was played by an unspecified actor. It’s not yet clear if any of these actors will return for the third film or who else will be in it.
Will The Incredibles 3 possibly delve into the Parr family’s life at whatever new phase they find themselves in? Although it seems highly plausible due to the significance of their family dynamic in making the first two films so beloved, the Incredibles universe also offers ample opportunities for expansion. This could include unexplored locations, fresh characters (both super and non-super), and numerous storylines to pursue.
Since Incredibles 3 has just been announced, Pixar hasn’t set a specific release date yet for the project. It’s expected that it will be some time before they can firmly decide on a launch date. On the other hand, Toy Story 5 is in the pipeline with a more definite release date to anticipate – June 19, 2026 – and Andrew Stanton has confirmed his return as director for this sequel.
