Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Gets New Behind-the-Scenes Video About Becoming Indy

Prior to the launch of “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” for PS5, Bethesda and developer MachineGames have unveiled a fresh video offering a peek into the game’s development process. This latest video primarily concentrates on Troy Baker, the voice actor who embodies Indiana Jones in the game.

In the video, Baker expressed, “Each youngster playing in their yards dreamt of being like Indiana Jones,” referring to the moment when he first uttered, ‘I am Indiana Jones.’ He added, “It’s just unbelievable, dude.

Alessandra Mastraonardi, portraying Gina Lombardi in the game, shared insights about her collaboration with the game’s creators to breathe life into the characters. The video showcases Tony Todd (Locus) and Marios Gavrilis (Emmerich Voss), as well as their reminiscences on how the Indiana Jones films significantly impacted their childhoods.

The group of voice actors delve into the reasons behind Indiana Jones’ enduring popularity. They generally agree that his appeal lies in his unassuming nature as an ordinary adventurer, without extraordinary abilities. Instead, he primarily depends on his intelligence to navigate challenging scenarios.

According to Baker, “He’s not like a ninja or a secret agent,” instead, he’s a straightforward type of hero. Each blow he lands is a powerful one, and each time he falls, it’s as if he’s sailing at full speed – very real and down-to-earth.

Gavrilis characterizes Indiana Jones as “the epitome of an adventurer.” He goes on to say that, just like any other great hero, he has his flaws.

Upon assuming the role of Indiana Jones, Baker shared that one of his initial actions was learning how to wield a whip like the character himself. He recounted: “I contacted a renowned stunt performer and coordinator, and he suggested we meet at a park; if the police arrive, as they likely will, let him handle the conversation.

Originally, I brought my own whip to the set, and when they saw it, they asked me what it was. I replied, “That’s my whip.” But they disagreed, saying, “No, that’s not a whip.” They then handed me a rope and explained, “This is a safe environment, and we don’t allow the use of weapons within our exceptional studio. So, unfortunately, I didn’t get to use the whip during filming.

Originally launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S last year, “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” is now coming to PlayStation 5 on April 17th. You can pre-order the game, and there’s a Premium Edition available for $99.99 which includes the Order of the Giants DLC, as well as early access to the game for two days before release.
