Developer Bleakmill in partnership with Headup has unveiled a fresh trailer for the upcoming game titled Industria 2. This newly revealed footage was premiered during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2025 and offers a sneak peek into both the gameplay aspects and the narrative of the forthcoming title.
The trailer hints that Industria 2 will intensify the horror-shooter atmosphere found in its predecessor. A quick glance at the gameplay from the beginning of the trailer reveals the character preparing their shotgun with ammunition while navigating through a decaying structure.
In this structure, the protagonist must stealthily navigate through some peculiar beasts. If they become overly numerous, the player must engage in firing at a few of them, all while attempting an escape.
In shifting focus, the trailer for “Industria 2” reveals additional plot details. The narrative centers around the protagonist Nora, who must join forces with Marlene to find a means of returning home. Pivotal to the storyline of “Industria 2” is the mystery surrounding the malevolent AI named ATLAS.
In Industry 2, the action unfolds two years after the events of the initial game. You’ll assume the character of Nora, who finds herself confined within a parallel dimension enclosed by mechanized walls. Although Nora has an abandoned chapel by the coast as her primary operational base, she is determined to discover a means to return to her 1989 East-Berlin homeland.
On her journey, Nora encounters numerous challenges, among them is ATLAS. The plot centers on Nora reconciling her past and confronting the repercussions of her earlier decisions, which appear to be connected to the emergence of ATLAS in some fashion.
In Industria 2, gameplay is designed to offer players an engaging experience through realistic physics interactions. There’s also a crafting system along with an inventory system, which the developers refer to as diegetic. Additionally, the game will feature a distinctive setting that combines industrial decay and a boreal landscape, complete with mysterious structures and creatures.
In the game’s customization feature, players can enhance their collection of five weapons. The improvements take shape as diverse add-ons such as larger ammo clips, suppressors, or extraordinary attachments that offer special attack abilities.
In simpler terms, the developers have mentioned that “Industria 2” will have a main plot for players to follow, but it won’t rely heavily on pre-scripted scenes. Instead, it draws inspiration from the narrative style of the classic shooter game, “Half-Life 2”. The story in this game will be presented through in-game events, allowing players to explore and interact with the world while still maintaining a sense of freedom.
The game titled “Industria 2” is being designed for PC platforms and is scheduled to be launched in the year 2025. Since its name hints at it, this sequel follows the 2022 release of “Industria.
Previously, we evaluated the game “Industria” on the Xbox Series X/S, awarding it a 6 out of 10. Although we appreciated the game’s narrative and world creation, along with its visuals and ambiance, we found the controls clunky, the combat lackluster, and there were numerous technical difficulties to contend with.
