Industry’s Kit Harington reveals “entitled” season 3 character is “moulded on various people”

As an avid admirer of Kit Harington‘s illustrious career, it is truly captivating to witness his transformative journey from the icy lands of Westeros to the pulsating world of high finance in Industry Season 3. His ability to breathe life into characters, particularly Sir Henry Muck, by drawing upon his rich tapestry of personal experiences, is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Kit Harington revealed that he based the character he played in “Industry” Season 3 on several individuals he’s encountered throughout his life.

He mentioned Sir Henry Muck, the British aristocrat who manages a green tech energy company, while talking about individuals I’ve interacted with or those you might encounter at weddings.

Previously, this same query was posed to collaborators Konrad Kay and Mickey Down, professionals in the financial sector. When asked about their stance on responding, Mickey stated: “I find your question insightful, but I’m not sure if we should provide an answer.

“He’s an amalgamation of people we’ve come into contact with. He does think what he does is good for the world, but of course it’s also really good for him.”

Harington found it refreshing to portray Sir Henry, whom he considered entitled yet not heartless.

He mentioned that this character he’s portraying differs slightly from others he’s played before. Interestingly, he feels a strong resemblance to a character he played in an episode of Criminal on Netflix some time ago. He sees a connection with that character and the one he’s playing now, particularly in their shared background and perspective on life.

However, he felt like a refreshing change for me, portraying the character of Henry, as it provided an opportunity to showcase a blend of charm, self-deprecation, and hidden complexity, all skillfully crafted in the well-written script.

“And that’s what you’re always looking for with choosing the next role, the best writing.”

In the third installment of the play, Pierpoint Financing Corporation is seen making a significant move towards future investments focused on ethical capital. This decision thrusts Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey) and Eric (Ken Leung) into the limelight as they are tasked with leading the high-profile initial public offering (IPO) of Lumi, an eco-friendly venture owned by Sir Henry.

Meanwhile, after departing from Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is “keen to return to the alluring rush of finance” and forms an unexpected alliance with portfolio manager Petra Koenig, portrayed by Sarah Goldberg from Barry.

Industry season 3 arrives in the UK on Tuesday 1st October on BBC One and iPlayer.
