Over the last couple of years, I’ve noticed a surge in the comfy gaming niche that I absolutely love. Developers from all corners are diving into the style reminiscent of games like Stardew Valley, while others are tackling grander projects such as Infinity Nikki, an open-world fashion collector. The variety is astounding! However, it’s disheartening to see that the 1.5 update and Steam release for Infinity Nikki didn’t go as smoothly as we all hoped, leaving many loyal fans frustrated with the dev team.
5 update for “Infinity Nikki” introduced a long-awaited multiplayer cooperative mode that players have been eagerly anticipating since its release. Furthermore, it signaled the beginning of the Bubble Season, featuring tasks and mini-games designed around the new co-op features. Notably, the game is now available on Steam, bringing joy to fans who had previously used the game’s dedicated launcher.
It appears that the 1.5 update has caused several problems for players, including launch glitches, performance concerns, difficulties with optimization, and frequent crashes since its release. Moreover, Steam has been inundated with negative feedback, criticizing InFold Games for raising gacha mechanic prices and releasing an unrefined product.
InFold Apologizes For Infinity Nikki 1.5 Update Problems
Shortly following the release of version 1.5, the developers of Infinity Nikki, InFold, issued an apology via the game’s main social media platform.
Dear Design Team,
I trust this message reaches you in good health.
Firstly, let me express our heartfelt apologies. It is with regret that we could not deliver a consistent gaming experience upon the launch of Version 1.5.
We deeply regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to rectify the issues at hand.
Best regards,
[Your Name]— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
As a gamer, I want to express my sincere apologies for the rocky launch of the new version. Unfortunately, we fell short in delivering you a smooth gaming experience, and it’s on us. The main hiccups that have been reported include troubles with the DIY Workshop, co-op feature, and overall game performance, which led to login issues, crashes, and resolution problems. We’re working tirelessly to address these problems and bring you a better gaming experience as soon as possible.
They also listed out a series of fixes that have already been implemented, including:
- Fixed an issue where, under certain circumstances, the client displayed “Initialization failed, please restart the game” and prevented login.
- Fixed an issue where shared outfits were wrongly displayed as Nikki’s default outfit [Perfect Start] in the [Color Lookbook].
- Fixed an issue where the piece [Floral Dreamscape] of the outfit [Flowing Colors] had an incorrect category after glow-up.
- Fixed an issue where interactions in the Heart of Infinity interface were unavailable under certain conditions.
Infold shared updates about ongoing solutions addressing the performance problems players are facing, particularly focusing on optimization issues. Moreover, they addressed concerns related to the number of components in the five-star outfits ‘Snowy Ballad’ and ‘Crimson Feather’, plans for the DIY Workshop design, as well as alterations in the Mira Crown Pinnacle Contest duration. Each point has sparked significant dissatisfaction among the gaming community.
Player Compensation for Infinity Nikki 1.5 Update Issues
As a gamer immersed in the thrilling world of Infinity Nikki, I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news! After the challenging 1.5 update, the developers are generously rewarding us all. Each player will receive a bounty of Revelation Crystals x10, Resonite Crystals x10, and an impressive 1200 Diamonds! These rewards will be delivered straight to our in-game mailboxes, making them accessible to everyone, regardless of the platform we’re playing on. This is a perfect way to keep us engaged and motivated as we continue our journey within Infinity Nikki.
It’s unfortunate that some fans may find the changes made to Infinity Nikki’s systems by InFold insufficient, given concerns about honesty and credibility. For instance, a reviewer on Steam expressed disappointment over retracted promises and harmful modifications, such as editing the Steam Wishlist campaign image to show fewer rewards than initially promised. Moreover, the 1.5 update changes have raised questions about integrity. Another fan pointed out that increasing the number of paid diamond outfits from 7 pieces to 11 pieces feels like a money-grabbing tactic and has negatively impacted their experience with the game. As a result, they will no longer be playing Infinity Nikki going forward.
Gamers are growing wary of microtransactions within video games, and titles like Infinity Nikki need to cultivate trust among their player base to ensure that the game is a sound investment. Alterations in gacha mechanics, pricing for items, and recurring events can spark unease and discourage many from participating.
At present, Infinity Nikki’s 1.5 update doesn’t have a specific timeline regarding when the optimization problems and crashes will be fixed. Fingers crossed, InFold will work diligently to address these issues and consider player feedback before releasing the next major content update.
