Influencer Shares "Bizarre" Part of Working at Hooters as Trans Woman

As a dedicated follower of Averii, also known as Slayverii, I find her courage and honesty truly inspiring. Her experiences working at Hooters as a transgender woman and navigating the complexities of passing as a woman are eye-opening and heartbreaking at the same time. It’s disheartening to see how blatant prejudice still exists in our society, but Averii’s resilience is commendable.

One influencer is getting candid about her life offline.

Social media influencer Averii, also known as Slayverii online, shared some personal experiences with her audience regarding her job at Hooters while being a transgender woman.

In a TikTok post on October 10th, Averii expressed that working at Hooters, being a transgender woman, feels remarkably unusual. She explained that it’s fascinating to navigate a traditionally masculine environment as a trans woman, which creates an intriguing contrast.

In her own words, she shared that some customers have used extremely disrespectful comments towards transgender people, unaware that she herself is trans. Her response? A simple, “Alright, end of discussion.

During these conversations, Averii frequently struggles to find the right words, as it underscores “the degree of openness people exhibit with their biases.” She finds it utterly “hard to believe” or “incredulous.

“I don’t know,” she said, “I’ll never get used to it, ever, ever.”

After sharing her video, Averii was immediately flooded with support in the comments.

“May you always be protected,” one user wrote. “Thank you for your service.”

Another added, “Firstly—girl you’re STUNNING. Secondly—that really cannot be easy to deal with everyday. I really hope you have safe spaces to vent.”

Averii, who recently released her first single “Republican” on September 27, has been vocal about her life experience as a trans woman, particularly discussing the topic of being recognized or accepted as the gender she identifies with, which is often referred to as “passing.

She expressed on her Oct. 8 TikTok that numerous trans women believe achieving a “passing” status is the pinnacle objective, and life will become simpler once they begin blending seamlessly into society.

However, as Averii progressed, she discovered that it became approximately “10 times more challenging.

I’m telling you from personal experience, you’re in for a world of pain, disillusionment, and intolerance. When these particular individuals discover your identity as trans, trust me, their anger will escalate exponentially. They held you up to an ideal of beauty they thought you conformed to before, so the shock and disappointment will only fuel their fury.

Still, she hopes that those looking to transition will continue focusing on their goals, adding, “Keep being you, period.”
