To mark its 30th anniversary, the creator of Initial D and MF Ghost, Shuichi Shigeno, has revealed a follow-up manga titled “Subaru and the Comet,” or simply “Subaru and Subaru.” This new series will first appear in Issue 34 of Young Magazine, set to be published on July 22nd, 2025. An announcement poster showcases the two main characters for the upcoming sequel, offering a sneak peek into their street racing adventure that lies ahead.

The title “Subaru and the Comet” originates from its main characters, Kudo Subaru and Sato Subaru, who find themselves in the world of street racing due to chance events in their lives. Kudo’s journey begins when he meets Ogata and Aiba, whereas Sato’s adventure starts with Bunta.
