The announcement for Marvel’s Wolverine was made as far back as 2021, and since then there hasn’t been any official follow-up, understandably causing some frustration among fans. This prolonged silence might be a bit exasperating even for the developers at Insomniac Games.
It seems that no matter what content the studio shares on social media, Wolverine is always a topic that comes up, and the person responsible for managing Insomniac’s accounts feels overwhelmed by it.
Regarding a user who seemed rather impolite on X, the developer responded: “Currently, we’re diligently developing Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5. We’ll announce updates about the game once we feel it’s appropriate to do so. This is always our approach.
Straightforward might be the word, as sometimes truth needs no sugarcoating. Regardless of enthusiasts’ wishes, Insomniac won’t reveal fresh information until they’re prepared – and this is particularly true for a project tied to Marvel’s universe.
The studio notes that not every request can be acted upon immediately due to factors such as time, required resources, and approval for sharing.
The release date for Marvel’s Wolverine remains uncertain; there were predictions that it would debut in 2025, but Insomniac Studios has been tight-lipped about the project during a recent interview.
There’s a good chance we’ll get a better look at the PS5 exclusive title in the upcoming months, but whether that happens depends on PlayStation’s release schedule. Keep in mind, Ghost of Yotei is planned for 2025, Death Stranding 2 will arrive in June, and Marathon seems to be confirmed. We’ll have to wait and see how everything unfolds.
