As a long-time gamer and avid fan of animated series, I’ve seen my fair share of new announcements come and go. But when Adult Swim dropped the first look at their upcoming original animated series, “Invincible Fight Girl,” I couldn’t help but feel a renewed sense of excitement.
The anticipated series “Invincible Fight Girl” is yet to be released, with Adult Swim unveiling its initial glimpse. Amidst the ongoing transformations within Warner Bros. Discovery’s animated division, numerous projects have been announced, canceled, or put on hold in recent years. One such project that left fans intrigued was “Invincible Fight Girl,” initially introduced as a new original series for Max (later HBO Max) and Cartoon Network back in 2022. However, since then, there have been limited updates, aside from a few previews at Annecy and more.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Adult Swim not only unveiled the entire first episode for fans in attendance, but also released the first sneak peek of “Invincible Fight Girl” for those not at the convention. Given Adult Swim’s track record of hit animated shows like “My Adventures with Superman,” the future looks promising as we anticipate the full premiere of “Invincible Fight Girl.”
What Is Invincible Fight Girl?
Juston Gordon-Montgomery originally developed the animated series “Invincible Fight Girl” for Adult Swim. This engaging half-hour show is set to premiere on Adult Swim without a specific release date announced yet. Following its debut on Adult Swim, episodes will be accessible for streaming on Max the following day. Here’s a sneak peek into what the new series offers: “Invincible Fight Girl” is an entertaining blend of action and comedy. It delves into Wrestling World, where wrestling transcends beyond being just a sport and becomes a lifestyle. Our protagonist, Andy, aspires to become the greatest pro wrestler ever. Adopting the wrestler name ‘Fight Girl,’ Andy embarks on her journey into the vibrant and eccentric Wrestling World, determined to leave an indelible mark.”
In the storyline, Andy encounters various individuals during her quest for wrestling success. These include the grumpy yet lovable retired champion Aunt P, the pure-hearted Mikey with a knack for analyzing matches, and the shady Craig, who sees wrestling as an opportunity for profit rather than passion. As they support Andy’s dream, this unlikely group forms a bond and sets off on a challenging journey of personal growth and achievement. They face hurdles, self-realization, and most crucially, go head-to-head with formidable opponents in the ring.
