Invincible Season 3 Just Brought Back A Major Fan-Favorite Character (and His Iconic Voice Actor)

In the third installment of Invincible, animation enthusiasts have been drawn back into the gruesome realm of Mark Grayson. The recent episode is not for the faint-hearted, as it’s brimming with bloodshed and intense violence. One primary factor contributing to this escalation in brutality is the comeback of one of the series’ furriest characters – Battle Beast. You might not know this, but the hairy extraterrestrial is given voice by another renowned alien from the Federation. As the third season keeps delivering immense emotional and physical challenges for Mark, Allen the Alien and Nolan Grayson are each grappling with their own distinct issues.

Heads up! If you haven’t seen the recent episode of Invincible’s third season, be prepared as we’re about to delve into some major spoilers. Interestingly, Battle Beast, who initially caused trouble for our hero in the first season, is now on the good side this time. The character, a fierce alien feline, is voiced by Michael Dorn – renowned for his role as Worf in Star Trek and his distinctive deep voice, which fits perfectly with the wild alien warrior.

Battle Beast Returns

When Allen the Alien, who’s voiced by Seth Rogan, comes across Battle Beast, he doesn’t try to appeal to the Beast’s moral compass or promise a brighter future. Instead, the Beast becomes excited at the prospect of a fight that could potentially end his life, as the character voiced by Michael Dorn expresses delight at the idea of fighting two Viltrumites. Although Battle Beast doesn’t manage to kill his adversaries in the end, the ferocity and determination Allen demonstrates during the battle is so intense that it might outshine every other character at this moment.

Fans won’t find Battle Beast exclusively in the animated series; instead, he’ll appear in a separate mini-series within the comic book realm. Those who follow Invincible are already familiar with the original comic’s conclusion, but this new comic takes us back in time to explore Battle Beast’s secret activities. The upcoming comic not only welcomes Robert Kirkman back to the Invincible Universe, but it also brings artist Ryan Ottley out of retirement, making this a significant reunion for Image Comics.

As a keen observer, I’m sharing Kirkman’s words about his continued involvement in the Invincible Universe. He expressed, “I simply can’t get enough of this universe! Transitioning from the comic series to the animated adaptation, I’ve had no real break. However, while adapting the series, I’ve been eager to delve into something fresh! Long-term fans will recognize a significant gap in Battle Beast’s appearances between issues 19 and 55 of Invincible. There’s a wealth of story untold there, and I couldn’t be more excited to have Battle Beast co-creator Ryan Ottley alongside me to help bring it to life!
