Steven Yeun voices Mark Grayson / Invincible

What you are asking is, “Who exactly is Mark Grayson?” And the answer is simply, he is none other than Invincible, the 17-year-old son of Debbie and Nolan Grayson, who has been dealing with both figuring out how to be a superhero and the startling disclosure about his father’s existence on Earth that was unveiled in the season 1 finale.

In the second season, while Mark demonstrates noticeable progress in his superhero role, the opening theme of Radiohead’s song suggests a continued emotional turmoil for Mark. He continues to grapple with the pain of his father’s deception and disappearance into the cosmos, which left him and his mother Debbie behind, causing ongoing distress.

Have you recognized Steven Yeun from any previous roles? You might recall him as the character Glenn Rhee, the delivery boy, in The Walking Dead. Since then, he’s starred in independent films like Burning, Okja, Sorry to Bother You and Minari. More recently, he gained attention for his performance opposite Ali Wong in the popular sexually charged revenge thriller series Beef, which resulted in an Emmy nomination for him.

Sandra Oh voices Debbie Grayson

Debbie Grayson is none other than Mark’s mom, who was among the very few individuals worldwide privy to her spouse’s dual lifestyle while also excelling as a seasoned and accomplished real estate professional.

In the second season, we witnessed the lasting effects of Nolan’s treachery on the Grayson family, with Debbie hesitantly participating in a support group for superheroes, where she uncovers that Nolan has been causing most of the sorrow experienced by those mourning there. To compound her troubles, it seems Mark is distancing himself from her, making Debbie feel incredibly isolated.

Have I encountered Sandra Oh somewhere else before? If you’re familiar with Grey’s Anatomy, you might recall her as Dr. Cristina Yang, or perhaps Eve Polastri from Killing Eve produced by BBC. She’s also known for providing voices in various animation series such as American Dragon@ Jake Long, The Proud Family, Phineas and Ferb, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and more.

JK Simmons voices Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man

Nolan Grayson is known as the Superman-like figure for the world, a hero who was part of the Guardians of the Globe, until an unexpected twist led to him brutally killing all members and turning against Earth itself. He was ultimately defeated by his own son in a close battle, forcing him to abandon his position as the Earth-bound Viltrumite.

Since Season 2, it appears that Nolan has been residing on Thraxa. There, he established a new family, which resulted in Mark receiving an unanticipated half-brother named Oliver Grayson. Unfortunately, the last time we witnessed Nolan was not ideal as he was abducted by a Viltrumite warship and transported to an unknown destination.

Have you recognized JK Simmons from some other movie or show? He is widely known for his roles in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series, Juno, La La Land, Jennifer’s Body, Burn After Reading, Law & Order, Counterpart, and many more. He’s a fantastic actor working across various genres today.

Gillian Jacobs voices Eve Wilkins / Atom Eve

Who goes by Atom Eve but is also known as Samantha ‘Eve’ Wilkins?Atom Eve is one of Invincible’s fellow teen superheroes and classmates, as well as a student with him at university. Among the show’s characters, she is one of the most powerful beings, able to change the molecules of any object into any other object – it might seem complicated to explain, but in reality, it makes perfect sense when put into practice.

In season 2, similar to Mark, she continues to grapple with adapting to her role as a superhero. This is evident in her conflicts with her parents and an imprudent clash against a secondary villain on a bridge, which nearly causes a tragic accident for bystanders. As Eve plays a pivotal part in Mark’s development in the comics, it’ll be intriguing to observe if the series follows this narrative trajectory.

Have you come across Gillian Jacobs before? Many people first encountered her as Britta Perry on Community, the perpetual downer. She has also been seen in Netflix’s Love as Mickey Dobbs, HBO’s Girls as Mimi-Rose Howard, and more recently, she’s appeared in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Bear, and Transatlantic.

Andrew Rannells voices William Clockwell

Who do we refer to as William Clockwell? He is Mark’s close confidant, using a term coined by MCU’s Ned Leeds. This individual serves as Mark’s best friend and one of the very few who are privy to his dual identity as the crime-fighting character Invincible. Furthermore, he possesses knowledge about the actual events concerning Nolan when Omni-Man turned traitor, whereas the general public mistakenly believes that Nolan met an accidental death due to Omni-Man’s destruction during that period.

Have I come across Andrew Rannells in my entertainment journey? He is a renowned stage actor, particularly recognized for his portrayal of Elder Kevin Price in the hit musical The Book of Mormon alongside Josh Gad, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. In addition to this, he has graced the stages of Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Hedwig and the Angry Itch, and Hamilton. Most recently, you can see him collaborating with Gad once more in Gutenberg: The Musical. Beyond the stage, his talents extend to voice acting; he lends his voice to Matthew MacDell on Netflix’s Big Mouth, Veneer in Trolls: Band Together, and numerous English anime dubs.

Walton Goggins voices Cecil Stedman

Who is Cecil Stedman? He is the head of the Global Defense Agency (GDA), which functions similarly to SHIELD in the Invincible universe. This covert organization manages and supports all the superheroes globally, offering them advanced technology, intelligence, and aid during major intergalactic missions. Previously, Omni-Man held the top position, but now that role has been taken over by Mark (Invincible).

Have you come across Walton Goggins in any previous roles? Although he started out with appearances in The Next Karate Kid, Joy Ride, and House of 1000 Corpses, it was his portrayal of Detective Shane Vendrell on The Shield that truly catapulted him to fame. He later played the character Boyd Crowder on Justified, as well as a comedic antagonist in Vice Principals alongside Danny McBride. Upcoming projects for Goggins include playing ‘The Ghoul’ in Amazon’s live-action Fallout series.

Ross Marquand voices The Immortal, Rudy Connors

Who does the name ‘The Immortal’ refer to? The Immortal is an age-old superhero known for his uncanny ability to not die, unless beheaded. He boasts a colorful past, having lived through numerous significant historical events like the Crusades, and it’s said he even transformed into Abraham Lincoln at some point, later going on to establish the Guardians of the Globe.

In the world of The Immortal, I find myself observing the shift in leadership within the Guardians. After Robot struggled to effectively guide the team, Cecil brought forth a resurrected figure, now leading us. However, there’s an underlying tension between him and Invincible, stemming from their familial connection to Nolan. This could potentially escalate into some strained interactions in the future.

In simpler terms, Rudy Connors is the human form that the hero ‘Robot’ created for himself. Initially, he was a boy with mutations who survived thanks to a high-tech healing tank. Due to these circumstances, Robot had to explore the world. Later on, by obtaining some DNA from Rex Splode and enlisting the aid of the Mauler Twins, Robot managed to manufacture himself a human body, thus becoming Rudy Connors.

In Season 2, it’s evident that Rudy has been in Robot form for such an extended period that he’s still adjusting to his human ways, particularly managing emotions and even asking someone like Monster Girl out on a date. Fans of the comic series will recognize the significance of Rudy and Robot in Invincible’s future, so pay attention to him closely as we move forward.

Have I encountered Ross Marquand elsewhere in my entertainment experience? Marquand initially gained prominence playing the role of Aaron on The Walking Dead, but since then has expanded his repertoire to include impressive voice acting gigs like portraying Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Jason Mantzoukas voices Rex Splode

What can be said about Rex Splode? He’s the most impulsive member of the Guardians of the Globe, with a unique talent for turning objects into explosives with just a touch. However, it appears that he’s more likely to blow up his personal connections than physical items, as seen in his rocky relationship with Dupli-Kate.

Have you come across Jason Mantzoukas in any other shows or movies before? He’s a familiar face from Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and has been featured in films such as John Wick: Chapter 3, The Dictator, Sleeping with Other People. He’s an excellent voice actor too, contributing to shows like Big Mouth, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Close Enough. Additionally, he co-hosts the popular film podcast How Did This Get Made? So, it’s possible you may have seen him somewhere else in your viewing or listening experience!

Malese Jow voices Dupli-Kate

Who is Dupli-Kate? It’s not hard to figure out what her special ability is. Just like the present Guardians of the Globe, Kate was once a member of the Junior Team before being promoted due to Omni-Man’s actions. She used to be with Rex Splode, but it appears she has since moved on – her new love interest being The Immortal.

Have you noticed Malese Jow on television before? She is known for her roles on Nickelodeon, particularly as Geena Fabiano in Unfabulous, but she also appeared on Big Time Rush. Additionally, she has acted in more mature shows such as The Vampire Diaries as Annabelle ‘Anna’ Zhu, and has been featured in genre series like The Flash.

Jay Pharoah voices Bulletproof

The character referred to as “Bulletproof” possesses an extraordinary trait – being impervious to bullets. He’s a fresh face among the Guardians of the Globe, having been welcomed into their ranks by none other than Cecil Stedman, the leader of GDA. As a more recent member, we haven’t seen much of Bulletproof so far, but expect his presence to increase in the second half of season 2, particularly as Angstrom Levy resurfaces again.

Have you noticed Jay Pharoah from Saturday Night Live before? If you’re a fan, then you’ve probably come across him during his time as a cast member from 2010 to 2016. He was even ranked at No. 55 in Rolling Stone’s list of the best SNL performers, often compared to comedy legends like Eddie Murphy. You might also recognize him from smaller roles in movies such as Sing and The Mitchells vs. The Machines or his past collaborations with directors like Steven Soderbergh on Unsane.

Ben Schwartz voices The Shapesmith

Intrigued by the mysteries of the Mars mission’s aftermath in season 1, I find myself captivated by the enigma known as The Shapesmith. This peculiar character emerged when a Martian took on the guise of astronaut Rus Livingston upon the rocket’s homecoming to Earth. The Guardians have yet to fully grasp this unconventional figure, and it appears that his true identity remains elusive to all.

Have you encountered Ben Schwartz in some other role before? He is a renowned voice artist, famous for his work as Dewey in the Ducktales reboot, Sonic the Hedgehog in Paramount’s films, DC League of Super-Pets, and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. But it is likely that you know him best from his performance as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein in Parks and Recreation.

Kevin Michael Richardson voices The Mauler Twins

The Mauler Twins are frequent antagonists on the show, second only to Omni-Man in recurrence. These boisterous blue scientists have played significant roles in the storyline of Invincible seasons 1 and 2. Initially, they were responsible for creating Rudy Connors, and later, they transformed Angstrom Levy into a highly intelligent and terrifying character with a touch of psychosis.

Although it appeared that the identity of the clones had been resolved, the distinctive burn marks on their faces and the clone killing its creator have left us at a standstill once more. It seems we may encounter the Mauler Twins again in no time.

Have you recognized Kevin Michael Richardson’s voice from somewhere else? Although he may be new to your visual memory, his vocal talents are well-known. He has voiced characters in Lilo & Stitch, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons, Futurama, Teen Titans, Ratchet & Clank, and even The Batman.

Mark Hamill voices Art Rosenbaum

Art Rosenbaum is known as the skilled costume designer for superheroes, particularly Omni-Man and Invincible. He is well-respected among many of these heroes because he spends considerable time with them to ensure their costumes are tailored specifically to their unique abilities. In aiding Debbie in uncovering Nolan’s secrets, he too has become as lonely as she was, having had to betray one of his closest friends for the greater good.

Have I encountered Mark Hamill in any roles other than Star Wars, the Joker, Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender, or Skips from Regular Show? To be honest, it would probably be simpler to list the projects where he hasn’t appeared.

Clancy Brown voices Damien Darkblood

Who is Damien Darkblood? He’s the private investigator who got hired by Cecil during season 1, tasked with following Omni-Man and figuring out his unusual actions. Interestingly, he’s a demon who escaped from hell, and decided to become a detective as his new occupation. Unfortunately for him, he was assigned to follow Nolan, which ultimately led to Cecil sending him back to Hell in an attempt to keep Nolan’s truth hidden prematurely. Maybe that wasn’t the best decision.

Have you recognized Clancy Brown from somewhere before? You might remember him as Professor Brink in the latest The Boys spin-off, Gen Z, or as Kurt Caldwell in Dexter: New Blood. Even though he’s known for his live-action roles, his voice acting is also quite popular – he plays Mr. Krabs on Spongebob Squarepants and has lent his voice to many famous Marvel and DC villains such as Lex Luthor, Parallax, and Taskmaster.

Sterling K Brown voices Angstrom Levy

In simpler terms, who is Angstrom Levy? He’s an arrogant scientist with a lack of self-control, hailing from a world where Mark joined forces with his father to conquer Earth. However, Angstrom holds the key to their defeat – he can open gateways to other dimensions, enabling him to gather knowledge on how those dimensions overcame Mark and Nolan. This knowledge could help him return to his own world and save the day.

In essence, the Mauler Twins attempted to merge all of Angstrom’s identities within him, but Invincible intervened prematurely, destroying the device instead. Surprisingly, Angstrom Levy isn’t dead, but rather has become a living embodiment of ‘Big Brain,’ seeking retribution now.

Have I encountered Sterling K. Brown in any previous roles?

Sterling K. Brown is a renowned actor, having won multiple Emmys for his work on The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and This Is Us. He’s known for his versatility in television, but he’s also appeared in films like The Predator, Waves, Frozen II, American Fiction, and Black Panter.

Aaron Paul voices Powerplex

Who is Powerplex? Powerplex is one of the villains who Invincible will face in season 3.

Apart from Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul has also been known for his roles in shows such as El Camino, Better Call Saul, BoJack Horseman, and Black Mirror’s Beyond the Sea (Season 6).

Simu Liu voices Multi-Paul

Is Multi-Paul known as the sibling of Dupli-Kate? If so, they possess identical powers, which involve duplicating themselves. Unlike his virtuous sister who chose a heroic path, Paul opted for a life of villainy instead.

Apart from Shang-Chi, what other productions has Simu Liu been involved in?

Simu Liu is most famously known for his leading role in Marvel Studios blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Additionally, he had a starring role on the Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience, and he played one of the many Kens in the 2023 hit film Barbie.

Jonathan Banks as TBC

Has Jonathan Banks appeared in any other productions aside from Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Call Saul? Yes, he also starred as a regular character in the fifth season of the popular sitcom, Community.

Christian Convery as Oliver Grayson

I am thrilled to share that I am none other than Oliver Grayson, the cherished offspring of Omni-Man and the illustrious Empress of Thraxa, Andressa. This unique heritage also binds me as a half-brother to Mark, a bond that adds an extra layer of intrigue to my life story!

Has Christian Convery appeared in any other projects besides Sweet Tooth and the 2023 action-comedy Cocaine Bear?
