Building upon the success of its third season, Invincible is poised for a transition into the gaming world, as a brand-new fighting game titled “Invincible VS” has been announced.

Featuring our beloved half-Viltrumite protagonist alongside well-known characters such as Omni-Man and Atom Eve, this combat squad seems to draw a great deal of influence from games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Marvel vs Capcom.

Invincible VS will release in 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

It’s unfortunate that, despite the high anticipation surrounding the game after its announcement, fans of the series will need to be patient as they won’t be able to play it right away.

The game developed by Quarter Up, a fresh team under the umbrella of Skybound, the rights holder, has yet to announce a release timeframe, not even a particular day, suggesting that its launch may occur as early as half a year from now or as far away as December 2026.

It’s a long time to wait, though probably not as long as for Injustice 3.

Invincible VS gameplay

VS Invincible is a fast-paced, competitive team combat game, heavily influenced by multiplayer titles such as Marvel vs Capcom and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

In simpler terms, players can select a group of up to three characters hailing from the Invincible comic series. They’ll have the ability to strategically switch between these characters during gameplay, allowing for intricate combo sequences.

The game might or might not include assist options, similar to previous games in the series, but we suspect that these features are probably going to be included.

It’s no surprise that Invincible VS includes a lot of violence, as suggested by its genre. The trailer previews the intense battles filled with bloodshed, and it seems to incorporate a move reminiscent of the “Fatality” from Mortal Kombat.
