Ironheart Trailer Sets New MCU Record with Shockingly Short Release Window

The first teaser for Marvel Studios’ Ironheart is taking an unusually long time to surface before its anticipated premiere on Disney+. Announced for production during Disney Investor Day in December 2020, the series has been delayed due to the evolving nature of the MCU, as it continues to evolve and adapt over time.

The initial trailer for “Ironheart” set a new record by being the quickest to follow any live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project’s announcement and release date. As of now, the upcoming Disney+ series is only 48 days away from its streaming premiere, yet no full trailer has been unveiled for this Phase 5 production.

Previously, the record for advance hype was held by the latest Disney+ series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Daredevil: Born Again.” Its first trailer debuted just seven weeks before its premiere. However, as of May 8, 2025, this record has been smashed.

1. Loki: Trailer released on November 10, 2020; Series released on June 9, 2021 – A gap of approximately 6 months and 9 days.

The prolonged anticipation for the premiere of Ironheart persists, as this series has already surpassed a similar milestone by having the most extensive gap between the conclusion of filming and its release among all MCU Disney+ productions. Filming was wrapped up towards the end of 2022.

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that after making her debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in 2022, Riri Williams will take center stage in her own series, aptly titled “Ironheart.” Joining Anthony Ramos as The Hood and fellow cast members Manny Montana and Lyric Ross, this series promises an exciting journey as Riri navigates her return to her hometown of Chicago. The upcoming battles seem to revolve around the intriguing theme of “tech versus magic,” setting the stage for a captivating showdown. Catch “Ironheart” on Disney+ starting June 24!

When Will Ironheart’s First Trailer Be Released?

Since there’s no other Marvel movie coming out before The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it seems unlikely that they would attach the trailer for Ironheart to another project in the near future. This makes pinpointing an exact release date tricky, but with time running short, Marvel needs to give fans a glimpse of their long-awaited new Disney+ series, Ironheart.

So far, Marvel has shared brief clips of Ironheart in videos that preview various upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) productions. However, there hasn’t been any exclusive footage specifically dedicated to Ironheart yet.

There are rumors suggesting that the first trailer might be released in May. It’s speculated that sports events like the NBA playoffs on ESPN, which is owned by Disney, could serve as a platform for this debut. Warner Bros previously used a similar strategy during the promotional tour for DC’s Superman on TNT. Marvel enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting any updates.

So far, we’ve had just a handful of high-definition glimpses of Riri Williams from this series that have been made available to the public. As the days pass, excitement keeps growing about the unique contributions she might bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future.
