Is 7 Days to Die ever going to be finished?

As a long-time survivor of the gaming apocalypse, I can confidently say that the day 7 Days to Die finally left Early Access is a day I never thought I’d see. This game has been a staple of my post-nuclear survival diet since 2013, and I’ve seen countless other zombie games rise and fall in its shadow.

After more than a decade, the popular early access zombie base-building survival game, 7 Days to Die, has officially been fully released in 2024. This marks the end of its extended stay in early access and its transition into a completed game.

In the early 2010s, the hits of Minecraft and DayZ sparked a surge of sandbox games that incorporated base construction and zombies. Even Fortnite, a popular battle royale game owned by an intellectual property collector, initially emerged from this genre.

Among the early ones, there’s the game called “7 Days to Die”. Released on Steam in 2013, this was one of the pioneering titles adopting the Early Access model. Subsequently, it made its way onto consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) in 2016.

Despite being labeled “early,” the fact that it’s finally out feels quite fitting considering the game’s long development cycle. Now, with certainty, 7 Days to Die can proudly announce that it has kept its word regarding a formal launch.

On July 25, 2024, the complete version (1.0) of the game “7 Days to Die” will be released on Steam, Linux, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

7 Days to Die finished at last

Is 7 Days to Die ever going to be finished?

7 Days to Die is set in the wake of a nuclear catastrophe following a Third World War. The story unfolds within the fictitious region of Navezgane, Arizona.

Characters assume the identities of people who’ve survived a war, navigating through the wreckage of what was once civilization. Their primary objective is to locate essentials like shelter, sustenance, and drinking water to ensure their continued existence in this harsh environment.

Yet, the wasteland is now inhabited by zombies, either as a result of a radioactive disaster or an unidentified virus. Surviving players will need to scavenge for resources to craft weapons and fortifications to fend off these undead hordes.

1. Online players may work together harmoniously, acting as teammates… Alternatively, they could view other human players merely as resources to be exploited.

As a gamer, I find that diving into any gameplay activity earns me valuable experience points (XP). This XP accumulates and allows me to upgrade my character’s various skills. Furthermore, interacting with Non-Player Characters (NPCs) often presents me with quests that not only offer material prizes but also substantial EXP bonuses.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but notice the recurring theme – the thrill of surviving among hordes of zombies in multiplayer base-building games is something many of us have experienced time and again.

7 Days to Die was distinctive in 2013 for its advanced graphics and blending of Minecraft-like building mechanics with survival elements similar to DayZ. However, by the time it’s fully released in 2024, a large number of games with similar themes have flooded the market.

Currently, what sets 7 Days to Die apart is its distinctive weekly cycle, which results in a “blood moon” occurrence every seventh game day.

At this gathering, the zombies transform from slow-moving ghouls into a bloodcurdling mob. Their speed and aggression increase dramatically, making them relentless pursuers of the player, as they now actively seek to find and attack them.

The objective for the players is to gather sufficient supplies during the week to construct a defensible stronghold, ensuring their survival against any incoming attacks.

Is 7 Days to Die possible solo?

Is 7 Days to Die ever going to be finished?

In essence, the game 7 Days to Die is marketed as a multiplayer sandbox experience, but it’s also perfectly fine to enjoy it on your own if you prefer a solo adventure.

In simpler terms, as more human players are actively participating in the game, the number of zombies increases accordingly. This means playing by yourself doesn’t put you at a disadvantage due to the number of zombies.

Playing alone limits a player’s ability to fully discover the game map, but on the bright side, it means fewer individuals to provide for in terms of food and weaponry, reducing the necessity to gather resources extensively.

Ultimately, when I dive into my favorite game, I have the freedom to customize it exactly how I prefer. I can fiddle with various aspects like the resources I acquire, the experience points I earn, and even the number of adversaries I’ll face. It’s a delightful way to tailor the gaming experience to suit my playstyle.

As a result, players can adjust the game to their personal tastes, be it alone or together.
