While we haven’t definitively confirmed it, there are rumors suggesting that the production of a potential second season might commence as early as this summer.
According to TV Zone’s report, it seems a potential reboot could be underway, although UKTV hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet. If true, we might get updates on another season soon.
It seems quite logical that the series will have a second season, given that lead actor Damien Molony has shown enthusiasm about reprising his role to tackle more mysteries.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Molony expressed his desire for more work, mentioning that across six episodes, he’s only managed to solve one crime. On the other hand, John Nettles had already cracked six cases by that stage!
“So, I am really hoping that there’s a few more cases for me to get my teeth stuck into.”
When would be a potential Bergerac season 2 be released?
If Bergerac gets a revival, we expect it might come back fairly quickly, much like how other U series have, for instance, The Marlow Murder Club.
The crime drama is set to make a comeback for its second season approximately a year from now, which means Bergerac might be up to something similar again and return to our screens by early 2026. If the news about filming happening this summer is accurate, it looks like that’s definitely on the cards.
