The enthusiasts of the Jurassic series are at a peak this week, stirred up by the unveiling of the official trailer for the upcoming installment, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth“. This latest addition to the Jurassic World series introduces new characters, narratives, and dinosaurs, signaling a fresh beginning for the franchise. The tagline, “A New Era is Born”, hints at the film’s release three years after “Jurassic World Dominion”, the final chapter in the trilogy that revitalized the franchise following its decade-long hiatus. However, despite the continuity between the two films, the cast is entirely new, leaving fans speculating whether series icon Chris Pratt will make an appearance, as his character, Owen Grady, was absent from the trailer.
The upcoming film titled “Jurassic World Rebirth” will feature Scarlett Johansson as the main character, with Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali also starring. Interestingly, Chris Pratt is not part of this movie’s cast, as suggested by the trailer. However, there’s speculation about possible cameos in a future scene, though nothing has been confirmed yet, including any post-credit sequences. Previously, only one “Jurassic” film had a post-credit scene, and no such hints have been given for this movie so far.
Regardless of its apparent resemblance to a reboot, the movie titled “Jurassic World Rebirth” aligns with other contemporary installments in the series and boasts a fresh set of actors. Chris Pratt’s portrayal as Velociraptor trainer and animal behaviorist Owen Grady was a standout in the last trilogy of this franchise, and he continued to excel in each film’s world, even amidst any criticisms leveled at the “Jurassic World” films.
In “Jurassic World Rebirth,” Johansson portrays Zora, a character involved in the revelation of a group of dinosaurs who possess a secret that could potentially save humanity. The film introduces a unique concept – that dinosaurs might inhabit various locations, but it’s later revealed that Earth is gradually becoming unsuitable for them. Now, all remaining species must reside in enclosures mirroring Earth from 65 million years ago to survive.
I can’t wait to witness firsthand the indomitable spirit of an actress who consistently shines in blockbuster films when I join her and the rest of the fresh ensemble at the premiere of “Jurassic World Rebirth” on July 2nd, 2025.
