Is Elden Ring Nightreign on Xbox Game Pass?
It appears highly unlikely that Elden Ring Nightreign will ever be available on Xbox Game Pass. This speculation is based on current trends and game releases, but it’s essential to note that neither FromSoftware nor Bandai Namco have officially confirmed this information, so there’s always a chance things could change.
Don’t expect Elden Ring Nightreign on Game Pass
In 2022, the developer FromSoftware released Elden Ring, widely regarded as one of the best action RPGs ever made and a Game of the Year winner. Last year, they also launched Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which was essentially a standalone game in its own right. Now, they’re not finished with Elden Ring yet – in less than a month, they will release a new installment titled Elden Ring Nightreign on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5.
In comparison to FromSoftware’s other Soulslike games which emphasize gradual advancement, extensive exploration, and detailed character customization, Nightreign stands out as something quite distinct – it leans more towards a roguelike genre, and has a strong cooperative emphasis. This game appears to be set in a time prior to the events of Elden Ring, offering a speedy three-player adventure where teams navigate through a map over the course of three “days.” During these runs, you collect random items, unlock enhancements, and encounter bosses. Instead of crafting a highly specialized character, you choose from eight unique Nightfarer characters, each with their own leveling paths designed for various playstyles. Your challenge is to construct the best build possible using the resources you find during each game session.
Without a doubt, this new offering from FromSoftware is quite unlike their usual games – after immersing myself in it during the February Network Test, I must admit I’ve developed a deep affection for this unique side of FromSoftware’s genius. The game has been delighting many players and there’s a lot of buzz and anticipation ahead of its May 30 release as an action RPG with cooperative play. Of course, given the excitement, it’s only natural that many are hoping to be able to experience this game through Xbox Game Pass.
It’s highly unlikely that Nightreign will be available on Xbox’s Game Pass service, despite the fact that its release would no doubt please many gamers on Xbox and PC. So far, there has been no official confirmation about Game Pass availability for
Could Elden Ring Nightreign come to Game Pass?
It appears that Elden Ring Nightreign might not be accessible through Xbox Game Pass at launch, though this isn’t officially confirmed yet. However, it seems unlikely. Yet, there’s a chance that the Soulsy co-op roguelike could join the service later on. Keep in mind that many games eventually become available on Game Pass, so the possibility exists for Nightreign to be added at some point down the line.
Regrettably, it’s still quite an uncommon scenario. To date, none of the FromSoftware games available on Xbox or PC – including Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Armored Core 6, and the original Elden Ring – have been offered through Game Pass. Consequently, there’s little reason to anticipate that Nightreign will be any different. While it’s not entirely out of the question, I must admit that I wouldn’t bet on it happening anytime soon.
To put it simply, you’ll be able to enjoy Elden Ring: Nightreign only by buying a permanent version of the game from your preferred platform. The regular price is $39.99, but there’s also a Deluxe Edition priced at $54.99 which offers future DLC access, an artbook, soundtrack, and exclusive characters/bosses. Interestingly, you can get the Steam versions of both editions for less at Fanatical. The Standard Edition is currently $35.19, while the Deluxe Edition is available for $48.39 on Fanatical.
