Is Monster Hunter coming to Xbox Game Pass?
As a dedicated Monster Hunter fan who has spent countless hours hunting beasts across various platforms, I find myself both excited and slightly disappointed about the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Wilds. The game promises to be an epic adventure that will surely captivate fans old and new alike. However, the fact that there’s no official confirmation of it coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch is a bit disheartening for me.
At this moment, Capcom hasn’t officially announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will be part of Xbox Game Pass when it debuts on February 28, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S. But, since Monster Hunter Rise was made available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and xCloud, there’s a possibility that Monster Hunter Wilds could join the lineup later on.
It seems that Monster Hunter Wilds will miss out on Xbox Game Pass at launch
In December 2023, Capcom unveiled Monster Hunter Wilds, the highly anticipated next-generation sequel to their all-time best-selling game, Monster Hunter World. This upcoming title aims to enhance the unique qualities that define the Monster Hunter series with an array of innovative and refined combat systems, the largest explorable landscapes in the franchise’s history, a horde of terrifying new and classic monsters, and the long-awaited crossplay functionality between home consoles and PC.
Approximately one year and a half later, the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Rise is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam for PC on February 28, 2025.
Unfortunately, Xbox gamers might experience some letdown since Capcom hasn’t yet confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will join Xbox Game Pass upon its release.
Microsoft’s top-tier cloud gaming platform, Xbox Game Pass, offers users the freedom to download and play numerous Xbox games for a modest monthly fee. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that Monster Hunter Rise will be available on Xbox Game Pass at its launch. This would have been advantageous as it would enable individuals who can’t afford the full price or want to test the game before buying, to experience Monster Hunter Rise. In turn, this could help the game reach a broader audience.
While it’s not guaranteed that Monster Hunter Wilds will immediately join Xbox Game Pass, there’s a possibility we might see it there eventually. This is because its predecessor, Monster Hunter Rise, made its way to Xbox Game Pass when it was released on the Nintendo Switch and PC. So, it could be a prospect for the future, once Monster Hunter Wilds has been launched.
The highly anticipated follow-up to Capcom’s critically acclaimed Xbox and PC game, Monster Hunter World, titled Monster Hunter Wilds, is set to debut on February 28, 2025. This exciting new title will be available for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
