At the Taipei Game Show, we had a go at Ratatan, a game that resembles Patapon’s spirit. Unfortunately, our initial experience with the demo left us feeling underwhelmed. While there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the game itself, the absence of a tutorial made it challenging for us to grasp the marching commands easily.
It’s great to see that the way this new gameplay is presented in the video has reignited our excitement. Unlike its predecessors on PSP, it’s a roguelike game, meaning you can collect different boosts and improvements as you advance through it.

In each of their adventures, Ratatan and Cobun gain unique power-ups and rewards at random in every fight. This means that every playthrough offers a fresh experience, as these power-ups introduce a range of distinct effects and expand the variety of gameplay opportunities.
The release date for the title hasn’t been announced yet, but it seems we’re edging closer to its completion. In the meantime, don’t forget that Patapon 3 has recently become available on PS5 and PS4 as a part of the PS Plus Premium subscription service, which could help pass the time!
