Is Taylor Swift in Deadpool & Wolverine?

As a die-hard Marvel fan and avid Taylor Swift enthusiast, I was beyond excited when rumors started swirling about her potential cameo in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Having grown up watching the X-Men movies and listening to Swift’s music, the idea of seeing these two iconic worlds collide seemed like a dream come true.

After many Anticipations and excitments, the Marvel Studios production of Deadpool & Wolverine has been released. This highly-anticipated film has generated numerous hypotheses regarding potential guest appearances by current Marvel actors or newcomers. One widely-discussed theory suggested that renowned pop artist Taylor Swift would make an appearance, possibly as Dazzler, Lady Deadpool, or even a fictionalized representation of herself. Did this speculation eventually materialize in the movie? (Minor spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine lie beneath! Read at your own risk!)

Taylor Swift doesn’t show up in “Deadpool & Wolverine” at all. The movie neither speaks about her nor includes her in any form. Her songs are absent from the film’s authorized soundtrack as well, which boasts tunes from Madonna, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Avril Lavigne instead.

As a huge fan, I couldn’t help but get excited when rumors circulated during the making of “X-Men: Apocalypse” in 2016 that Taylor Swift could potentially join the cast as Dazzler, the pop star character who emits light energy from her hands. The buzz grew louder after pictures of Swift with some of the film’s ensemble surfaced. Alas, those rumors were eventually squashed, but fans like myself didn’t give up hope. With the multiverse connections between “Deadpool” and “Wolverine,” as well as Swift’s real-life bond with star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, it seemed like a perfect fit for her to make a cameo. Adding fuel to the fire was the fact that Swift once wore Reynolds’ Deadpool costume for Halloween in 2016, making her an intriguing choice for Lady Deadpool (a role eventually taken by Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively). However, just as we were all geared up for Swift’s big-screen debut, Reynolds himself confirmed that she doesn’t appear in the film at all. Disappointing news for us fans, but here’s to hoping that Taylor Swift will one day get her chance to shine in the X-Men universe!

Reynolds clarified to E! News that the cameo appearance of Taylor, who is a friend of theirs, is not included in this film.
