Isabella Strahan has reached an exciting chapter in her health journey.
About a month after finishing her final chemotherapy session for medulloblastoma, which is a type of malignant brain tumor, Michael Strahan’s daughter announced that the results of a follow-up MRI scan were encouraging.
Isabella expressed her joy in a YouTube video uploaded on July 18th, “The scan results were fantastic! Everything looked crystal-clear and there was no sign of cancer. I’m doing well.”
On Instagram Story July 18, the elated 19-year-old posted a picture of herself. In the snapshot, she donned casual attire including jeans, an orange blouse, a knitted sweater, and a L.A. Dodgers baseball cap. She beamed in a sunlit meadow.
Additionally, Isabella shared on YouTube that she had completed her hospital appointments and wouldn’t need to see the doctor again until October. Although she was elated about this development, the occasion carried a hint of sadness for her as well.
She expressed her feelings by saying, “I’ll sorely miss my doctors and everyone who’s cared for me. They are all so kind. It’s a sad day for me knowing that I won’t be seeing them again soon as I hold them in such high regard.”
Before being given the all-clear for cancer, a student at USC looked forward to sharing the news that she successfully had her chemotherapy port taken out.
In her July 17 vlog, Isabella mentioned, “Everything is used up now. However, the spot where the wound from the port once was still causes some discomfort. I feel pain when I laugh or try to move around.”
Isabella reported that the post-operative care required for her port site to heal properly was “relatively straightforward.”
She suggested a healing period of about four weeks without swimming or other water activities, along with taking care and paying attention to her scars.
Through her battles with health issues, Isabella received not just encouragement from her followers, but also invaluable assistance from her family. Most notably, her father commended her strength and determination.
In his June 16 Instagram post, Michael expressed, “You’re truly superhuman, @isabellastrahan. Your bell has rung, marking the end of chemo. Through it all, you’ve kept fighting with a beaming smile, unwavering resilience, and indomitable spirit. I am incredibly proud of you, my dear Bella. Sending you endless love.”

The daughter of ex-pair Michael Strahan and Jean Muggli, Isabella Strahan, didn’t recognize any health concerns prior to late October 2023. Instead, she began encountering frequent headaches and nausea during that period.
When she vomited blood once, her father persuaded her to undergo a thorough examination and an MRI scan. The findings revealed a medulloblastoma, a type of cancerous brain tumor commonly diagnosed in children.
Later that month, she underwent brain surgery to remove the mass.
In an interview with her father and Robin Roberts from ABC News, which was made public in January 2024, Isabella shared her diagnosis.
Michael expressed his deep gratitude at having a wonderful daughter by saying, “In many aspects, I consider myself the most fortunate man alive. My daughter is simply extraordinary.” He acknowledged her challenges but believed they were manageable, adding, “I have faith that she will not only get through this but thrive.”
Isabella’s identical sister, Sophia Strahan, extended her encouragement as well. On Instagram, Isabella expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m beyond fortunate to have the most incredible sister and dearest friend. The past few months have been more challenging than we anticipated, but they’ve shown me the depth of your resilience.”
Following her interview, Isabella shared she had finished her round of radiation therapy.
As a lifestyle expert, I can relate when someone expresses relief and joy after completing a challenging experience. “I’m thrilled to have made it through these past six weeks! The healing process for my head has been a long journey, but I’m overjoyed to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The side effects took a toll on me, and I’m looking forward to putting this chapter behind me and focusing on my well-being once again.”
Following radiation therapy, Isabella began undergoing chemotherapy to treat her cancer.
She described in her February 16th vlog how her entire mouth felt as if she had undergone a painful root canal treatment on every tooth, without even the benefit of being re-implanted afterwards. Her jaw and the bottom of her tongue were aching, and swallowing water caused further discomfort.
Despite this, the teenager maintained her positivity, playfully remarking in a weekly video upload that her current hair length was “not enough” for her.
“Besides being bald,” she said, “it doesn’t bring me pain mentally.”
Isabella’s second round of chemotherapy, which was originally planned for early March, got postponed due to an unexpected emergency surgery she underwent in late February. During this surgery, doctors removed excess fluid from her skull and replaced a bone they had initially taken out with a titanium plate.
In her vlog on March 6th, she expressed, “I’m experiencing an immense amount of pain.” Her face looked significantly swollen, adding to her distress. Earlier that day, the discomfort had been so unbearable that she let out agonized cries.
Michael, Isabella’s father, managed to bring Bryson Tiller, her preferred artist, to their New York City residence as a morale booster during her health procedures.
Michael playfully remarked, “It’s been months since you last moved around this much, dear!” (during your vlog about our recent visit) “You’re absolutely thrilled at the moment.”
In a video posted on March 21, Isabella announced that she had begun her second series of chemotherapy treatments, leaving only “four more sessions” to complete.
Amid her second chemotherapy round, Isabella said she began experiencing difficulties in walking.
She expressed in her vlog on March 27 that she finds it difficult to walk without feeling dizzy or short of breath. Regrettably, she commented that there is no medication available to alleviate her exhaustion.
The YouTuber announced good news following her completion of the second round of chemotherapy, revealing that she now needs just two more sessions instead of the initially planned four.
In the video posted on April 10, she expressed, “These tears bring me joy rather than sadness.” or “These tears are a result of happiness, not sadness.”
Instead, Isabella encountered an unexpected setback in her healing process requiring a third brain surgery, which she described as distinctly different from her previous experiences.
She admitted in her vlog on April 12th that she’s been crying quite a bit lately. She underwent a new type of surgery where they inserted needles into three spots to drain fluid while she remained conscious. This was her first surgery experience where she stayed awake throughout the procedure.
