As I read through Isabella’s journey, it truly warms my heart to see her resilience and bravery. She’s facing adversity with courage that most of us could only aspire to have. Each day must be a challenge for her, yet she manages to maintain a positive spirit and share her experiences with the world, offering a glimpse into the strength of the human spirit in the face of hardship.

Isabella Strahan is celebrating a new milestone in her life.

After finishing two months of chemotherapy for medulloblastoma, a serious type of brain tumor, Michael Strahan’s daughter has returned to her studies at school.

I joyfully commemorated the event by posting a snapshot on my Instagram Stories featuring myself and my beloved mother, Jean Muggli, on August 20th, captioning it, “Once more at USC.”

In the picture, the 19-year-old opted for a laid-back look, donning a white tank top and denim shorts. Contrastingly, her mother was dressed in a pink button-down shirt and blue jeans.

In recent months, Isabella has had even more reasons to rejoice as she announced in July that a follow-up MRI after completing her chemotherapy treatments showed extremely favorable outcomes.

She expressed in a YouTube video posted on July 18 that the scan was exceptional, with no ambiguity. It was confirmed cancer-free and everything appears to be going well.

The University of Southern California student also shared she was done with hospital and doctor visits until October, although she did admit that the moment felt bittersweet.

She openly admitted, “I’ve grown quite fond of my doctors and everyone who assisted me. They are all so kind-hearted. It’s a source of sadness for me to realize that I won’t be seeing them again soon, as I cherish them deeply.”

During her entire voyage, Isabella received encouragement from both her admirers and her kin. Specifically, father Michael highly commended Isabella’s resilience upon completing chemotherapy.

“@IsabellaStrahan,” he posted on Instagram on the 16th of June, “You’re nothing short of amazing! Your courage in ringing that bell after completing chemo is truly inspiring. You face each challenge with grace, resilience, and an unwavering spirit. I couldn’t be prouder, my dear daughter! Sending you all my love, Bella.”

Earlier on, Isabella mentioned that her chemotherapy sessions were decreased, implying she gets a chance to rest and recover before resuming her studies at university in the fall.

In my April 10th video, I couldn’t help but express my joy as I believed I’d wrap things up by the end of July. Initially, it was planned that I’d complete six rounds in total. Following that, I would promptly return to school. To some extent, I hoped to seize the summer break to recuperate and recharge.

“These are happy tears,” she added. “It’s not even considered crying when it’s happy tears.”

Isabella Strahan, the child of ex-partners Michael Strahan and Jean Muggli, didn’t detect any unusual health symptoms until around early October 2023, when she began having persistent headaches and feelings of sickness.

One day, after vomiting blood, she was persuaded by her father to undergo a comprehensive physical examination and an MRI scan. The findings revealed a medulloblastoma, a severe and common type of brain tumor usually detected in children.

Later that month, she underwent brain surgery to remove the mass.

In a January 2024 interview with my father and Robin Roberts of ABC News, I chose to openly share my diagnosis.

Michael expressed his strong belief then, saying he felt incredibly fortunate since he has an exceptional daughter. He acknowledged that she was facing challenges, but he also believed they were never handed more than they could manage, and she would triumph over it.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me express that my twin sister, Sophia Strahan, has been an unwavering source of support during these challenging times. On Instagram, I penned down my feelings, saying, “I am incredibly fortunate to have such an incredible sister and loyal friend by my side.” The past few months have proven to be more difficult than we could have ever anticipated, yet they’ve shown me the depth of your strength.

Following her interview, Isabella shared she had finished her round of radiation therapy.

She expressed her great relief in a January 16 YouTube video, saying, “At last, I’ve completed what I was working on, it’s been a grueling six weeks for me. Now, I’m thrilled to be able to start healing my head, as the side effects and everything have taken their toll.”

Following radiation therapy, Isabella began undergoing chemotherapy to treat her cancer.

She expressed in her February 16th video log that her entire mouth feels as if she’s had a massive root canal procedure. Every tooth seems to have been forcibly removed and not even reattached surgically afterwards. Her jaw aches, the bottom of her tongue is painful too. It hurts when she swallows water.

Nevertheless, the teenager managed to maintain her positive outlook, humorously stating in a video shared a week afterwards that her current hair length is “inadequate”.

“Besides being bald,” she said, “it doesn’t bring me pain mentally.”

Initially planned for early March, Isabella’s second round of chemotherapy was delayed due to an emergency surgery she underwent on her skull. During this operation, doctors removed excess fluid from her head and replaced the bone they had previously cut out with a titanium plate, pushing back her chemotherapy treatment by several weeks.

In her vlog from March 6th, she expressed, “I’m feeling an enormous amount of discomfort,” or simply, “I’m really hurting.” She added that her face is significantly swollen and continued, “This isn’t fun at all.” Earlier in the day, she was suffering greatly, to the point where she exclaimed aloud.

In an effort to cheer up Isabella during her treatment, her father Michael managed to bring Bryson Tiller, one of her preferred musicians, to their residence in New York City.

Michael playfully remarked, “It seems like it’s been ages since you’ve done this much moving around!” during your vlog about our visit. “You’re absolutely starstruck at the moment.”

Amid her second chemotherapy round, Isabella said she began experiencing difficulties in walking.

As I expressed in my vlog on March 27, I find myself struggling to maintain my balance and catch my breath while walking. It’s disheartening because it seems as though there is no magic pill for combating exhaustion that I can take.

After completing her second round of chemotherapy, the YouTuber posted an optimistic update stating that instead of the initially planned four sessions, she will now only need to go through two more.

In a video shared on April 10, she expressed that the tears she was shedding were joyful. She wasn’t referring to crying as such, but rather tears of happiness.

Initially, Isabella encountered an unexpected challenge during her treatment journey as she needed a third craniotomy surgery, which differed significantly from her previous experiences.

In her April 12 vlog, she candidly shared that she’s been shedding quite a few tears lately. She explained that they inserted a needle into her three times to drain fluid, and she was fully conscious during the procedure. Therefore, her first surgery where she remained awake throughout.
