It Ends With Us’ Justin Baldoni Pens Moving Message to Abuse Survivors

As a dedicated follower and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, I find Justin Baldoni‘s heartfelt message to be a beacon of hope and resilience. His personal involvement in “It Ends With Us” and his empathy towards survivors truly resonate with me.

Justin Baldoni wants survivors to know they’re not alone.

As a dedicated lifestyle expert, I’d like to share some heartfelt thoughts about my work on “It Ends With Us.” Being both the director and the character portraying the resilient Lily Bloom, I’ve had the profound privilege of delving into this story that follows Lily’s journey through an abusive relationship. It’s a tale close to many hearts, especially for survivors of domestic violence, whom I deeply admire and for whom I believe this film was truly meant.

“Hello to the Brave One,” Justin wrote in his post on August 31st. “You exemplify resilience and courage, qualities that glow vividly, even on the gloomiest days. In the pattern of your life, every thread weaves a tale of fortitude, power, and optimism. Each stride you make, no matter how tiny, is a testament to your indomitable spirit and serves as an inspiration for others.”

And while noting it might be hard for survivors to recognize their own impact, he added that the journeys survivors undergo “encourages and motivates, lighting the path for those of us still searching for the light.”

The actor from “Jane the Virgin,” who portrays the character of Ryle in the movie, also acknowledged that every survivor’s journey is distinct.

“Though I may not grasp the depth of your struggles entirely, let me assure you, you’re never fighting alone. We stand by your side, sharing this journey with you. It’s not just that you’re surviving – you’re flourishing, and in your resilience, you spark a beacon of inspiration for us all.”

And moving forward, the 40-year-old has a special wish for survivors.

“I wish your path ahead is brimming with tranquil instances,” he said in conclusion. “Remember, as you strive for happiness, you’re freeing us all. I send you appreciation, courage, and affection.”

Justin’s message comes amid ongoing rumors of a feud between him and Blake after fans noticed that not only was Justin conspicuously absent from press and photos with the rest of the cast, but also that his and Blake’s messaging around the film’s difficult subject matter differed.

As a dedicated follower, I’d like to share that Justin has kept the topic of domestic violence central in discussions about his movie. He invites everyone to express their feelings on how this sensitive issue was handled within the film’s narrative.

Regarding concerns that the movie might glorify domestic violence, he stated to the Associated Press in August: “I believe they are fully justified in having that viewpoint, and it’s quite understandable why they might think so.”

In today’s society, there is a tendency to exaggerate and compete for visibility amidst an overflow of information in the media.

If someone has gone through such a genuine life event, I can only guess how challenging it might seem for them to picture their experience unfolding in a romantic novel. In response, I’d simply like to mention that we put great thought and care into creating this film.

Simultaneously, Blake, who played a dual role as both actor and producer, has made it clear that the movie encompasses far more than just the singular experience portrayed by his character.

At the August 8 London premiere, she explained to BBC News, “This movie deals with domestic violence. However, what makes this film significant is that the protagonist is not solely defined by her survival or victimhood. Although these aspects are crucial, they do not encompass her entire identity.”

For Blake, Lily’s tale serves a profound purpose of self-discovery, as he expresses, “I believe it is immensely empowering for others to realize that nobody else has the authority to label or define you. No life event can shape your identity. It is you who defines yourself.”
