It seems that as of now, the details for Call of Duty’s 2025 game are still under wraps; however, there are indications that a controversial aspect from past games might make a comeback.
According to reports from COD Warfare (through Insider Gaming), data miners have discovered hints of wall-running within the coding of Call of Duty. It is speculated that this feature could return in this year’s game, which is strongly suggested to be a sequel to Black Ops 2.
Even for someone like me who isn’t familiar with coding, it’s plain as day: Wallrun. This characteristic was a common element during the ‘jetpack period’ in Call of Duty, and those who played earlier games such as Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare will recognize it immediately.
1. If this feature manages to make the final cut, it’s certain to spark conversation. Back in those days, some people found it acceptable (including myself), while others strongly disapproved, yearning for a “boots-on-the-ground” experience similar to Call of Duty: WW2.
This year, I’m excitedly anticipating the new Call of Duty, and I hear it might fit between Black Ops 2 and 3 in the timeline. That means we might get advanced movement again, which isn’t entirely surprising. When coupled with omnimovement, it could potentially make for a very intriguing gaming experience!
It’s even more fascinating that certain players have successfully integrated the wall-running mechanic into Black Ops 6 and Warzone, as evidenced by the video above which is just one example among many circulating online, demonstrating this feature being used in present-day Call of Duty games.
So far, though, there’s been no leaks of jetpacks. Take that as good or bad, however you prefer.
With the heat of summer gaming season upon us, whispers about Call of Duty 2025 are bound to start buzzing louder. It won’t be long before Activision decides it’s time to unveil their next big thing, right?
Additionally, there’s strong evidence suggesting that this year’s Call of Duty could be another installment in the Black Ops series set after Black Ops 2, as hinted by elements within the current game.
Achieving Prestige Master 1000, or what is also referred to as Prestige Legend, grants you access to hidden rewards, among which are now revealed the Samuels operator and a design for a sleek, futuristic weapon.
As a tech enthusiast, I can’t help but speculate about the upcoming game, whether it’s named Black Ops 7 or something else entirely. One thing is certain – we’ll be back to wall-running, and I’m genuinely excited about it! So, what are your thoughts? A fan of wall running or more traditional gameplay?
