In just a few more episodes of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, its inaugural season will draw to a close, bringing us closer than ever to learning who Quiche truly is and uncovering the reasons behind the core four’s murder in formal attire. Although NBC has yet to confirm if the series will continue for a second season beyond its spring 2025 TV lineup, creators Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs hint that viewers can look forward to some significant answers. A sneak peek of an episode (displayed above) shows Alice probing Catherine with pointed questions when she’s being evasive.
The upcoming episode will be broadcast on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, May 2nd. If you prefer to stream it, it’ll be available the next day on Peacock. The title, “Monaco Under the Stars,” hints that this episode is going to be significant. Throughout the season, the flash-forwards have been pointing towards Alice (AnnaSophia Robb), Catherine (Aja Naomi King), Birdie (Melissa Fumero), and Brett (Ben Rappaport) in formal attire dealing with a murder. Now, it seems like the events of the story are finally matching up with those previews.
In my conversation with the makers/producers regarding shifting from airing Suits LA on Sunday nights to Fridays without it meaning a death sentence, they additionally marketed the series to new viewers and promised rewards for those who stuck around. They characterized the show as follows:
- Bill Krebs: “We like to think of it as a guilty pleasure, like How to Get Away with Murder.”
- Jenna Bans: “Or Desperate Housewives or Big Little Lies. One of those shows you can just really get into [with] a lot of twists and turns.
- Bill Krebs “A soap with a big world that has a really juicy mystery behind it.
- Jenna Bans: “People behaving badly.”
There’s no doubt that “characters displaying harmful behavior” can be found throughout the series! Although it appears that only the main four characters have been confirmed as killing someone in the first season thus far, the enigma of who killed Molly has puzzled Alice since the very first episode in the present.
In the recent episode clip, it appears that AnnaSophia Robb’s character reaches her breaking point with secrets as an inebriated Tucker (Jocko Sims from “New Amsterdam”) unexpectedly enters, prompting her to force Catherine to reveal what she’s concealing. The implication is that Catherine might know the truth about whether Patty (Nancy Travis from “Last Man Standing”) overstepped a significant boundary or not.
In the upcoming episode titled “Monaco Under the Stars,” we might find ourselves edging closer than before to uncovering the true identity of the deceased character often referred to as “Quiche.” However, as Jenna Bans noted, this series is filled with unexpected surprises and plot shifts. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that not all mysteries will be resolved in this episode, given that there are still two more episodes left!
Previously working together on “Good Girls,” Bill Krebs hinted at an enriching journey ahead when the truth eventually surfaces, during their collaboration on GPGS.
Our series is designed to challenge your mind. It features multiple future scenarios that require you to pay attention and stay on top of things, which we find engaging and hope will keep viewers intrigued as well. By the time you reach episodes 11, 12, and 13, all the pieces will come together for a satisfying conclusion. This was something we kept in mind from the very start, right from the pilot episode.
The Grosse Pointe Garden Society has been unfolding a thrilling serialized story centered around the Quiche murder since its debut. It might be beneficial to rewatch past and future episodes, as some subtle hints may have been overlooked, especially after the grand revelation. Interestingly, the showrunners expressed that the streaming platform Peacock is where they feel most connected with their audience, a majority of whom prefer on-demand viewing. They hinted that there could be more to come, suggesting that a second season might be on the horizon, even after wrapping up the Season 1 murder mystery in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, let’s all keep tuning in to demonstrate our support! As of now, NBC has only confirmed a few shows for their 2025-2026 lineup, and even some of their most popular One Chicago dramas are yet to receive updates. So, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything negative that the fate of Grosse Pointe Garden Society is still undecided.
Don’t miss out on the game-altering “Monaco Under the Stars” episode of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, airing on NBC on Friday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, or stream it the next day with a Peacock subscription. There are only two episodes left after this one!
