Jack Black Is Satan, Not Santa, in the Devilishly Funny Dear Santa Trailer

As a film enthusiast who has spent countless hours binge-watching everything from indie flicks to blockbusters, I must say that the trailer for “Dear Santa” piqued my interest immediately. The unique premise of Jack Black portraying Satan instead of the jolly old man in red is intriguing and offers a fresh take on the classic holiday tale.

In composing a letter to Santa, it’s always wise to double-check your work. In your letter, Jack Black (known for films like “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and “A Minecraft Movie”) plays a character that is more naughty than nice, but this isn’t Santa—Santa is a jolly figure. Instead, he is Satan, who is brought forth from Hell by a dyslexic boy named Liam (Robert Timothy Smith).

The filmmakers intended for the movie to be comedic rather than horrifying, aiming to keep it lighthearted. “Dear Santa” is directed by Bobby Farrelly, written by Ricky Blitt, Peter Farrelly, and Dan Ewen, and produced by the Farrelly Brothers, Jeremy Kramer, Kevin Barnett, Pete Jones, and Gretel Twombly.
