Jack Schlossberg had a purpose behind his eyebrow-raising posts.
Prior to the sudden disappearance of his social media accounts, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy Onassis used controversial posts as a means to demonstrate the effectiveness of certain political messages in reaching the public.
Jack shared during the February 10th episode of the “Blueprint with Jen Psaki” podcast, which was taped in January, that he believes the internet is a challenging environment to stand out, particularly if one isn’t expressing something controversial or surprising. He added that Democrats might not be playing this game as effectively as they could.
Without a doubt, his social media posts were quite contentious. For example, the 32-year-old man posed a question to users about the comparative attractiveness of his grandmother and Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance. He even acknowledged that his comments could be seen as “creepy” and “odd”.
He clarified that he crafts his posts to be humorous or quirky with a hidden intention. His goal is to leave an impression of him being eccentric, as if he’s discussing his own family in an unusual manner. This strategy often triggers a strong response, such as retweets and quotes. He believes that this is the tactic that the other side has been using effectively, which is creating a stir and getting a reaction from people.
In his own words, as the youngest among Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg’s three children, Jack expressed that receiving attention is nearly equivalent to winning over half the struggle.
One of his puzzling actions was asserting that he was Brandon Michael Baldoni’s attorney during the legal dispute between the actor and Blake Lively from the movie “It Ends With Us”. Now, he clarifies the reasons behind those posts, which even caught the attention of Baldoni’s genuine lawyers.
One night, an idea suddenly struck Jack,” he shared. “I noticed a lot of people debating about Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively online, individuals I wasn’t particularly familiar with or interested in. It seemed like the entire nation, almost the whole internet, was in an uproar over this, while I was preoccupied with the transition of government and the significant issues that were unfolding.
He went on to say, “Modern society tends to focus on specific areas, some being more significant than others. Can you find an innovative approach to stand out and illuminate these key aspects in a truly unique manner?
1) Even though Jack holds a law degree, it came as a surprise to him that people actually trusted it. Initially, the intense media attention surrounding his stunt was intimidating; however, the Vogue political correspondent was confident that the uproar would subside over time.
He remarked, “In a week, no one will recall this,” indicating that due to the forgetfulness of many, more significant issues have already been forgotten. Initially, he was anxious because everyone was angry, but as people began to comprehend it was a jest or satire, he believes they started to grasp the game he was playing.
However, Jack’s strategy also required different tones for other messages.
He pointed out that not all of his posts will be amusing or daring. Some need to be straightforward and uninteresting, but they can’t all be dull. It’s crucial to vary the content and take risks because it’s enjoyable for me to chuckle at it before sharing, and it also shows others that you’re prepared to stand up for them or express your own opinions.
He notably stressed the importance of speaking up, even if what you say may be unclear to others or potentially elicit an unfavorable response.
Or
He particularly emphasized the need to speak one’s mind, regardless of whether it might confuse others or provoke a disliked reaction.
Or
He underscored the significance of expressing yourself, even when what you say may not be easily understood by everyone or might evoke reactions that some people might find unpleasant.
The interview, held a day following President Trump’s inauguration, was published four days later, as it turned out that Jack had suddenly deactivated all his social media profiles unexpectedly.
On February 6th, he apologized for any pain he caused, admitting his mistakes. He decided to remove all his social media accounts permanently. It was a pleasure interacting with you all. Thank you anyway.
Read on for a breakdown of the sprawling Kennedy family tree.
Joseph Patrick “Joe” Kennedy married Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald on Oct. 7, 1914.
By the year 1932, my partner and I had brought nine extraordinary individuals into this world: Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., John F. Kennedy, Rosemary Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy, Eunice Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Jean Kennedy, and Edward Kennedy. Each one of them has left an indelible mark on our family’s legacy and the world at large.
Born July 25, 1915, Joe Jr. was going to be president, as far as his father was concerned.
He attended the Democratic National Convention in 1940 as a representative and intended to seek a position in Congress upon his discharge from the Navy. However, tragedy struck on August 12, 1944, when he and his fellow pilot, Wilford John Willy, lost their lives. The incident occurred during a bombing mission that was part of Operation Aphrodite, as the explosives they were carrying detonated unexpectedly.
No traces of the missing pilot were found, and their names appear on the memorial tablets dedicated to fallen soldiers during World War II at the American Cemetery and Memorial in Cambridge.
Born on May 29, 1917, it was John who managed to secure a seat in Congress. Later, he advanced to the position of U.S. Senator before being elected as President in 1960.
John, born on May 29, 1917, climbed his way up from Congress to the office of U.S. Senator, eventually winning the presidency in 1960.
On September 12, 1953, he tied the knot with Jacqueline Bouvier. Their union resulted in the birth of their daughter Caroline Kennedy on November 27, 1957, and their son John F. Kennedy Jr. was born on November 25, 1960.
In the year 1956, a baby girl named Arabella was unfortunately born still. Exactly nine years later, on August 7th, 1963, Patrick, another child, entered the world prematurely but survived for just 39 hours.
JFK was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963, one of the defining events of the 20th century.
During the Obama administration, Caroline served as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan, while she was the U.S. Ambassador to Australia during the Biden administration. In 1986, she tied the knot with Edwin “Ed” Schlossberg.
They have daughters Rose Kennedy Schlossberg, born on June 25, 1988, Tatiana Kennedy Schlossberg, born May 5, 1990, and a son named John “Jack” Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg, who was born in January 1993.
TV producer Rose went to Harvard like her mom and married restaurateur Rory McAuliffe in 2022.
In 2014, Tatiana, who wasn’t aware that her article about a deceased bear discovered in Central Park for the New York Times was connected to her cousin RFK Jr., graduated from Yale and tied the knot with her college sweetheart, George Moran, in 2017. Their family expanded in 2022 when they welcomed their son, Edwin Jr.
Jack, who graduated from both Yale and Harvard’s joint law and business program, is known for his lively presence on social media. At the 2024 Democratic National Convention, he delivered a speech, and he currently serves as a political correspondent for Vogue.
In 1988, a man who later became known as the “People’s Sexiest Man Alive,” was widely regarded as one of the world’s most desirable bachelors. He tied the knot with Carolyn Bessette, a publicist for Calvin Klein, on September 21, 1996.
Sadly, John F. Kennedy Jr., often mourned by his family, met an untimely end at a young age, reminiscent of his father’s fate. His life was cut short when he, along with Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette, tragically perished in a plane crash on July 16, 1999.
Rosemary (at right, with sister Kathleen and mom Rose) was born Sept. 13, 1918.
As Rosemary studied at a unique institution catering to students facing learning challenges, her conduct presented problems, ultimately prompting her father to arrange for a prefrontal lobotomy when she turned 23 years old.
After undergoing the experimental treatment, which was thought to be a possible remedy for mental illness and Joe had high hopes it would be beneficial, Rosemary sadly emerged with severe disabilities and spent the remainder of her life (until January 7, 2005) in an institution.
Years later, Rose confided in historian Doris Kearns Goodwin that she had always assumed her friend could lead a life similar to that of a Kennedy woman, at a slightly more leisurely pace. However, everything changed dramatically within just a few short minutes.
Born Feb. 20, 1920, Kathleen got a kick out of life, hence her jaunty nickname.
On May 6, 1944, she got married to William Cavendish, the Marquess of Hartington, in a non-religious ceremony held in London. However, it went against her mother’s wishes because William wasn’t Catholic, and as a result, only her brother Joe Jr. represented her family at the wedding.
A month later, William, a major in the British Army, was killed by a sniper in Belgium.
She stayed in England and developed feelings for William Wentworth-Fitzwilliam, the 8th Earl Fitzwilliam who was still married. Prior to obtaining a divorce, they tragically perished together when the plane transporting them to the French Riviera crashed on May 13, 1948.
Eunice was born July 10, 1921.
Eunice Kennedy Shriver, a dedicated philanthropist and founder of the Special Olympics, tied the knot with Robert Sargent Shriver Jr. on May 23, 1953.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that the family I admire so much has a total of five incredible children: Robert “Bobby” Shriver III (born on the 28th of April, 1954), Maria Shriver (on the 6th of November, 1955), Timothy (on the 29th of August, 1959), Mark (on the 17th of February, 1964), and Anthony (on the 20th of July, 1965). What a remarkable bunch!
When Eunice passed away at the age of 88, she had a total of 19 grandchildren among them being Maria’s four offspring from her former spouse Arnold Schwarzenegger: Katherine (born December 13, 1989), Patrick (September 18, 1993), Christina (July 23, 1991) and Christopher (September 27, 1997).
Bobby Kennedy, affectionately recognized nationwide, tied the knot with Ethel Skakel on June 17, 1950.
Or simply:
Bobby Kennedy, widely known as such, married Ethel Skakel on June 17, 1950.
They eventually welcomed eleven kids, namely: Kathleen, Joseph II, Robert Jr., David, Courtney, Michael, Kerry, Christopher, Maxwell, Douglas, and Rory.
Ethel found herself expecting Rory when Bobby was tragically killed on June 6, 1968, not long after he had triumphed in the California Democratic primary.
David Kennedy passed away due to a drug overdose on the 25th of April, 1984, at the age of 28. On New Year’s Eve, 1997, Michael Kennedy met his end when he collided with a tree while skiing and concurrently playing catch with a football during a family vacation in Aspen, Colorado. Sharing three children with wife Victoria Gifford, he was 37 years old at the time of his death.
Ethel Kennedy experienced the loss of her husband when their oldest child was just 16 years old. Despite this heartbreaking event, she became the grandmother of 34 grandchildren. Tragically, two of her grandchildren passed away. Courtney, daughter of Paul Hill, and Saoirse Hill, who was 22 years old in 2019, died from an accidental drug overdose. In 2020, Maeve Kennedy McKean, the daughter of Kathleen and David Townsend, lost her life in a canoeing accident at the age of 40.
RFK Jr., born Jan. 17, 1954, is a thrice-married father of six.
He has a son, Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy III (born in 1984), and a daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy (born in 1988), whom he shares with his first spouse, Emily Black.
They divorced in 1994 after 12 years of marriage.
RFK III has been married to CIA analyst turned author and TV host Amaryllis Fox since 2017.
They have a daughter named Bobby (born on January 7, 2019) and a son called Cassius Watts Thoreau Kennedy (born August 30, 2021), in addition to Zoë, Amaryllis’ child from her past relationships.
In simpler terms, the Stanford graduate stated in 2012 that “I believe life can be seen as a compilation of various experiences, some enjoyable, others challenging, and the greater the number of experiences you accumulate, the richer your life becomes.
Simply having a casual acquaintance with Ben Affleck, as a source described, catapulted Kick Kennedy into the spotlight, landing her at the peak of trending topics just days after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from the actor in August 2024.
As a trusted lifestyle advisor, I can confidently say that any rumors circulating regarding my personal life with Kick are entirely false. Rest assured, there’s nothing going on between us.
So nothing about being a Kennedy had really changed in a decade. Or a century.
She shared with T&C, “Often people ask, ‘What’s it like being a Kennedy?’ I reply, ‘Perhaps it’s the feeling of the water, but I’m always puzzled and respond, ‘I haven’t the slightest idea.’ When I spot my image or name in the gossip columns, I experience an uncomfortable sensation in my stomach. It’s not about me—it’s like reading something untrue.
Indeed, I’ve always felt an uncanny bond with my namesake great aunt, who passed away two years prior to my father’s birth. Her spirit and memory have always felt close to me.
“It’s funny how similar we are,” Kick mused. “She was fun and social and a performer in many ways.”
In the year 1994, RFK Jr. exchanged wedding vows with Mary Richardson. Together, they welcomed four beautiful children into their family: Conor Richardson Kennedy (born on July 25), Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy (August 22), William Finbar “Finn” Kennedy (November 8), and Aidan Caohman Vieques Kennedy (July 13, 2001).
The couple were legally separated when Mary died by suicide in 2012.
Father and sons: Conor, Aidan and RFK III.
Conor has generally stayed out of the limelight, with his notable activism and achievements set aside, after he became widely recognized at the age of 18 as a Harvard student. Notably, he introduced Taylor Swift to his family afterward.
In a brief span, their romantic relationship ended, yet Conor continued his journey, eventually graduating from Georgetown Law School. However, the news headlines still created quite an impression.
“Taylor Swift’s ex Conor Kennedy” is now engaged to singer Giulia Be.
Kyra, a regular among the high-fashion set, lives in Milan.
In a joint video with Elle and Bvlgari, which was uploaded on August 27, 2024, she mentioned that she is currently involved in a tribute project dedicated to her deceased mother.
She wonders if she’s gone through a renewal in her life. To which I can confirm, yes, there has been a transformation. As a child, I was a completely different individual. But as I grew into adulthood, I underwent a drastic change.
RFK Jr. married Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines in 2014.
The actress shares daughter Catherine Young (born March 8, 2004) with ex-husband Paul Young.
On Father’s Day in 2018, Kick expressed gratitude on Instagram by saying, “I appreciate you for gifting me with this fun bunch of quirky siblings!
Ethel Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy’s seventh child, who is now divorced from Andrew Cuomo, has three daughters together: twin girls Mariah Kennedy-Cuomo and Cara Kennedy Cuomo (born in 1995) and Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo (born in 1997).
Kerry and Andrew, the former New York governor between 2011 and 2021, got married in 1990 but parted ways in 2003, eventually finalizing their divorce in 2005.
Senator Ted Kennedy, who was more notorious than most of his family combined, had three children with his first wife Joan Bennett. These children are Kara Kennedy (born February 27, 1960), Edward Kennedy Jr. (born September 26, 1961) and Patrick Kennedy II (born July 14, 1967).
He and Joan divorced in 1982 after 24 years of marriage and he wed Victoria Reggie in 1992.
Kara suffered a fatal heart attack on Sept. 16, 2011, two years after her father died.
