James Bond finally confirms progress on next movie – producers announced

After a significant change in the James Bond film series earlier this year, Amazon MGM Studios recently disclosed some initial details about the upcoming movie in the series – specifically, who will be producing it.

The studio has chosen Amy Pascal and David Heyman to be responsible for the movie’s production. Notably, Amy Pascal served as the head of Sony before, where she played a significant role in the Spider-Man series, while David Heyman is widely recognized for his involvement with the Harry Potter series and the Paddington film adaptations.

Upon the announcement, Pascal and Heyman issued a shared declaration, stating: “James Bond stands among the most legendary figures ever portrayed on the silver screen.

It’s an honor and a privilege to continue the remarkable filmmaking legacy of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, and we’re thrilled to preserve the essence of Bond as he embarks on his upcoming journey.

Simultaneously, as per the statement from Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Film, Courtenay Valenti, we’re making every creative choice for James Bond with the utmost care, following in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson who have expertly guided it before.

Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two highly accomplished and esteemed film producers known for creating and managing blockbuster movie franchises that have achieved both commercial and critical success. They are recognized as part of an elite group in our industry.

It’s a privilege for us to collaborate with them on the upcoming James Bond tale. We can’t wait to share a narrative with the world that continues the illustrious tradition of this cherished figure.

Following the announcement that Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, long-term producers of the James Bond series, will be taking a step back, this decision is in line with a new partnership deal aimed at managing the James Bond franchise’s creative assets under a joint venture agreement.

In this arrangement, both Broccoli and Wilson continue to share ownership of the franchise with Amazon. However, Amazon’s MGM Studios holds the creative control rights.

Recently, Amazon Studio’s CEO, Andy Jassy, revealed they haven’t decided on the theme for their upcoming projects just yet.

Jassy mentioned, “The tale is still unwritten by anyone so far, but rest assured, it’ll be handled with utmost precision. It’s a remarkable series that we hold dear, and one we anticipate nurturing for an extended duration.

With the producers now confirmed, it’s clear that the hunt for a screenwriter and director for the movie will undoubtedly intensify and progress swiftly.
