Finally, the long-anticipated James Bond video game titled “Project 007” has received an update and indeed, it’s making its way to Nintendo Switch 2. James Bond is undeniably one of the most enduring figures in popular culture. His presence stretches back more than six decades through films alone, and his story was being told in novels long before that. Although it’s been a while since we last saw this suave British spy on our screens, a new James Bond movie is currently under pre-production, expected to debut under Amazon Studios’ ownership within the next few years. However, there has been much curiosity about the fate of “Project 007,” initially announced by Hitman developer IO Interactive in 2020.
Fans have eagerly anticipated news about Project 007 for quite some time now, but IO Interactive has only shared minor updates so far. There’s still no trailer, release date, and it might not even bear the final title yet. However, that doesn’t mean the game is abandoned or on hold. Intriguingly, during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, they confirmed that Project 007 will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2, which may come as a shock to many given the original Switch’s power was relatively limited. However, with the anticipated upgrade in power of the Switch 2, it appears that more powerful games like Project 007 could become a reality.
