As an avid fan of both Lashana Lynch and Eddie Redmayne’s impressive acting careers, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement when I heard they were coming together for the new Sky drama “The Day of the Jackal.” But with the release of the first trailer, my anticipation has reached new heights.
I was intrigued by The Day of the Jackal, the new Sky drama, just from hearing that Lashana Lynch and Eddie Redmayne were in it.
Now, we’ve got a fresh new trailer for the approaching series, and trust us, our anticipation has reached an all-time high.
The trailer offers a peek into the intense conflicts depicted in the series, derived from Frederick Forsyth’s namesake novel and the 1973 movie featuring Edward Fox.
In the trailer’s opening, Lynch speaks in praise of the Jackal’s (Redmayne) skills as a top-notch assassin.
“She points out that the man’s appearance always changes,” as we observe him removing facial prostheses, contact lenses, and bald caps.
Lynch’s character Bianca is determined to locate him, believing she possesses the skills needed for the task. However, as events escalate with explosions, high-speed pursuits, and lengthy surveillance, the pressures of the investigation begin to take a toll on her.

Last year, I got excited about the announcement of the new Sky series from News. I was thrilled to learn that David Lynch had been cast, and the news was even sweeter with the confirmation of Eddie Redmayne’s involvement.
Certainly, the BAFTA-winning actress is recognized for her versatility, having played notable parts in films such as “Bob Marley: One Love,” “The Woman King,” “No Time to Die,” and “Matilda The Musical.”
Redmayne, who has won an Academy Award, is frequently recognized for his acting in films such as “The Theory of Everything,” “The Danish Girl,” the “Fantastic Beasts” series, and most recently, “The Good Nurse,” which streams on Netflix.
With the exceptional acting talents leading the way, there’s no doubt that the new series will draw much attention as they bring a fresh perspective to the novel and film.
In addition, Úrsula Corbero from Money Heist, Charles Dance from The Crown, and Richard Dormer from Game of Thrones will be part of the production as well.
According to the summary, “The Jackal, a solitary and extremely elusive assassin with no equal, earns his living by completing contracts for top dollar.”
After his most recent victim, a formidable British intelligence officer named Lashana Lynch (she goes by the moniker “007” now) begins relentlessly pursuing the Jackal. The ensuing chase takes them across Europe, resulting in a breathtaking game of hide-and-seek with devastating consequences.
The Day of the Jackal will be coming to Sky and NOW on 7th November.
