For quite some time now, I’ve been contemplating making a movie about this specific topic, but figuring out the best way to approach it has been challenging,” Cameron shared with Deadline. “Recently, I encountered Tsutomu Yamaguchi, who survived both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, only days before his passing in a hospital. He essentially passed on his personal narrative to us, so I feel compelled to tell it. I can’t ignore it.
