James Gunn’s Superman Movie Rating Continues A 19-Year Man Of Steel Trend

The Superman film directed by James Gunn, produced by DC Studios, receives its official rating as the DC Universe prepares for the launch of its updated version of the Man of Steel.

As David Corenswet’s standalone movie prepares for its summer premiere, it has been officially announced that Superman will carry a PG-13 rating due to scenes of violence, action, and strong language. This trend of PG-13 ratings in Superman’s filmography dates back almost two decades, starting with 2006’s Superman Returns. Since then, all live-action Superman films, such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, have followed suit. The Christopher Reeve series, however, were all rated PG.
