James Middleton Reveals Son’s First Word Was ‘Woof’

James Middleton is opening up about fatherhood.

Kate Middleton’s younger brother opened up about his life, his wife Alizée Thevenet, and their 18-month-old son Inigo, sharing delightful details such as their interactions with their six dogs and the various animals residing on their Berkshire countryside property.

In an interview with Hello!, James humorously stated that during his initial year of life, he had a peculiar belief he was actually a dog and moved around on all fours. However, he quickly clarified that his first spoken word wasn’t ‘woof’.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can tell you that I hold a special place in my heart for our canine companions, with Isla being no exception. Intriguingly, when I stand up and she sits down, we share the same eye level – quite an unusual connection, I must say. I often wrap my arm around her neck in affection and receive a playful lick on the face. It’s heartening to witness how seamlessly Isla has embraced me into our family, as it wasn’t forced but rather evolved naturally.

James—who wed Alizee back in 2021—went on to explain how much his son has taken after him.

He’s taken on my affection for dogs and animals; in fact, he enjoys conversing with them. He even mimics chicken sounds and recognizes a cow’s moo. Many of the things I love – like tractors, sheep, and dogs – are also among his favorites.

Despite his fondness for a bustling household, James acknowledged it could be quite overwhelming, often commenting that managing six dogs’ morning feedings alongside getting Inigo ready for nursery was no easy task.

In fact, the 37-year-old has gained valuable perspective on life since becoming a parent.

James said, “It’s nice to reminisce about the past and appreciate the memories, but don’t try to relive them now; it’s a waste of valuable energy.” He also added, “I’m more laid-back about changing diapers because I’ve dealt with enough messes throughout the years! And remember, good things take time. Don’t rush anything.

In fact, the 37-year-old has gained valuable perspective on life since becoming a parent.

As an ardent enthusiast, allow me to share my thoughts: “The past is a treasure trove of memories to savor, but not something to chase after today – it merely drains one’s vitality.” Over the years, I’ve dealt with more than my fair share of diaper messes, and now I find myself less phased by them! Patience is key here; nothing can be rushed swiftly.

On Instagram, she shared on January 7th: “I’ve shed so many tears I can’t count them anymore – the kind of tears that lead you to step into the shower with the desperate wish that the flowing water on your face might magically erase them or convince you they don’t exist. Yet, they do persist. And it’s alright to acknowledge that as well.

Meghan expressed her gratitude for numerous years of selfless love, affectionately calling him ‘Guy’. She went on to say that he had enriched her life in ways that he might never fully understand.
