Newly married Jana Duggar is ready to embark on another new journey.
34-year-old, who is the second oldest child of TV couple Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar from the show “19 Kids and Counting,” has shared that she and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, are considering a move to Nebraska, which is his hometown.
The ex-star of Counting On shared with People on August 17 (two days post their wedding), that they now own a small house which they’ve been renovating and organizing. He added, “It’s been quite enjoyable.”
In the year 2023, as per reports from TopMob News, Stephen acquired a five-bedroom residence in Lincoln, Nebraska. Interestingly, his family resides approximately 20 minutes away in Milford, Nebraska, and they run a construction business where he is employed.
As a devoted follower, I find myself sharing that Jana and Stephen, both aged 31, had only recently become affianced when they decided to tie the knot. The moment he presented her with the ring was in June, as People magazine announced.
They’ve been acquainted for quite some time now. Their first encounter was over a decade ago, during a snowstorm in Arkansas when his family encountered the Duggars. Later on, Jana and Stephen had a short-lived relationship a few years back, which ended and subsequently reconciled earlier this year.
Jana is one of the last of the adult-age Duggar children to get married.

Originally a pair of high school sweethearts, the parents of 19 children (and more than three dozen grandchildren) were the beginning of this expansive family.
I distinctly remember feeling rescued at the age of 15, an experience that has stayed with me ever since. On a particular evening, as a devoted follower of my Baptist church, I embarked on home outreach visits. A friend had mentioned a cheerleader from school who had recently experienced a spiritual transformation living in the Ruark family household, so I found myself knocking on their door that night.
They invited Michelle to Sunday school at their church and, Jim Bob said, he prayed to god that they could be each other’s spiritual leaders—though apparently their first meeting wasn’t as memorable for Michelle. A year later, she applied for a job at the frozen yogurt shop owned by Jim Bob’s parents. “You came to the counter where I was standing by the cash register and introduced yourself,” Michelle remembered in a letter posted on the family blog in 2017 for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd wedding anniversary. “You were shy but very sweet! I really don’t remember much about that conversation, except that you finally mustered up the courage to ask me if I would go to your junior-senior banquet with you!”
She went to a dinner with him at Shiloh Christian, but it wasn’t until they spent hours discussing the Bible at her parents’ house afterwards that she felt their bond deepen. As Michelle put it, “It was there our hearts became one.” They graduated high school in May of 1984 and got married in July. At the time, she was 17 and he was 19.
The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob previously held the position of a state legislator, representing Arkansas’ sixth district in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure, he served as vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate in 2002 and for the Republican nomination for Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006.
As an ardent admirer, I’ve always been intrigued by this dynamic realtor duo who’ve been deeply involved in conservative movements. Their lives, as portrayed on the hit TLC series “19 Kids and Counting” since 2008 (previously known as “17 Kids and Counting”), have earned them both loyal supporters and passionate critics. A call made by Michelle in 2014, urging people to vote against an anti-discrimination ordinance in Fayetteville, sparked a Change.org petition advocating for the show’s cancellation. In this call, she expressed concerns about making it legal for transgender individuals to use the restrooms they feel most comfortable in, which many deemed as an attempt to misinform the public.
The city council approved the ordinance.
The eldest member of the Duggar family, Josh, entered the world on March 3, 1988. Similar to his activism, he also pursued a path as a conservative advocate, supporting the Family Research Council in their campaigns.
In 2015, I found myself in a difficult position when past allegations against me resurfaced. These accusations claimed that I had inappropriately touched several girls, including my sisters Jessa and Jill, during my teenage years. Later that year, Jessa spoke out publicly in defense of me in an interview with Fox News, asserting that the harsh criticisms leveled at me were “excessive and untrue.” This statement, made by one of the alleged victims herself, was met with controversy but reflects her personal perspective on the matter.

She shared that it felt like a special gift, “We were being comforted by God,” she said. “We’re still growing and discovering. It’s quite rare, as I nurse my babies closely in age, but they are born only eight months apart. It’s just one more unexpected twist in the way the Lord is managing our circumstances.”
John-David and his sister Jana were born on Jan. 12, 1990.
Following a lengthy period of mutual acquaintance, even before meeting at a church gathering in Oklahoma (Abbie’s home state), John-David and Abbie began their rapid courtship. After a brief engagement, they tied the knot on November 3, 2018. Their family expanded with the arrival of daughter Grace Annette Duggar on January 7, 2020, followed by son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
On his 30th birthday in January 2020, John-David’s twin shared a heartfelt message with him saying, “Ever since we were young children, people would ask if we had that ‘twin connection.’ You know, the sensation where you sense what the other one is feeling or understand their thoughts… Well, John, I used to say no to that question. But now, I can truthfully admit that when our sister Gracie was born, I shared in all of your joy, so perhaps it’s true!”
Jana added, “It’s delightful observing you with Abbie as parents. You both seem so natural! The qualities that make you a fantastic brother will undoubtedly make you an exceptional father.”
Meanwhile, Jana observed as 11 out of her 18 siblings tied the knot before she herself found love with Stephen Wissmann – who happens to be the husband of Hannah Wissmann, a sister of Jeremiah, an ex-star from TLC. She firmly believes that it’s all in accordance with God’s plan.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve learned that not everything is instantly clear, but I trust that divine guidance steers us towards what’s truly best for each of us. Born on the 17th of May, 1991, I find myself following in the footsteps of my beloved parents’ love story. On a chilly Christmas Eve in 2011, my path crossed with Derick’s – a fellow local who grew up approximately 45 minutes from where I was raised. This serendipitous encounter took place when he dropped by our home while caroling with his church group during their festive outings.
Jim Bob acted as a cupid, helping to bring Jill and Derick together. Their bond strengthened through emails and video calls. In November of the same year, they decided to meet in person, which was Nepal for Derick. Their connection deepened, and by February 2014, Derick proposed to Jill with Jim Bob’s blessing. They got married on June 21, 2014, and now have three sons: Israel, born on April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In the month of April 2024, Jill revealed they experienced a miscarriage when anticipating their first daughter together with Derick.
In a previous chapter of my life, I found myself as part of a popular television series, sharing our family’s journey with millions. The shows were titled “19 Kids and Counting” and its subsequent version, “Counting On“. Unfortunately, my path diverged from the show in 2017 following some unfortunate words I spoke about a fellow TLC reality star, Jazzy Jennings, which were perceived as homophobic.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary titled “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets“, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick took time to consider the debatable aspects and religious views related to Jill’s family, as depicted in the show.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa got acquainted with Ben at church, and their traditional courtship began in 2013, leaving many spectators surprised by this old-style romantic practice. They had always kept their love lives private before becoming engaged, so Jim Bob clarified to People magazine, “Courting involves spending time together in a group setting, both families getting to know each other and the couple establishing shared goals to determine if they are suitable for marriage. Dating usually means couples spending time alone, which can sometimes lead to a more intimate relationship.”
In August 2014, Ben asked for Jessa’s hand in marriage and proposed. They exchanged their first touch at this time. Their wedding took place on November 1, 2014. When Jessa was pregnant with their first child, the show “19 Kids and Counting” was taken off air by TLC, who later aired a special about sexual abuse. This special focused on Jill and Jessa to educate viewers more deeply about this topic. Eventually, that winter, Jessa and Jill became the main stars of their own show titled “Jill and Jessa: Counting On”. Over time, this show expanded to include other Duggar siblings, becoming known as “Counting On”.
Jessa and Ben had their son Spurgeon on November 5, 2015, followed by son Henry on February 6, 2017, daughter Ivy Jane on May 28, 2019, and daughter Fern in July 2021. Unfortunately, Jessa experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holiday season. However, she went on to give birth to her fifth child, George, in December 2023.
The sixth Duggar child was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first met while performing ministry work in Laredo, Texas, and they began dating in 2016. They tied the knot on November 5th, 2016, which happened to be the bride’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday (quite a coincidence when you’re part of such a large family), and soon enough, people started speculating about a possible pregnancy.
In a June 2017 episode of Counting On, Jinger expressed that she anticipates our location will remain unchanged in a year, continuing with ministry here in Laredo, and simply aiming to serve the Lord in whatever capacity we can.
On July 19, 2018, their child named Felicity entered the world. It was in May of that same year when they disclosed that Jinger was expecting again, also sharing a prior miscarriage from the previous fall. In November 2020, they were blessed with another daughter, Evangeline Jo.
7 was born on January 20th, 1995. Leveraging the romantic ambiance, Joseph popped the question to Kendra (a lady he met at church) during his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017, following only a few months of dating.
As I stepped forward with the ring in hand, a wave of apprehension washed over me. Yet, I wasn’t dreading her response, for she had previously expressed, “I’m simply waiting on you!” Joseph shared this revelation with People magazine following the proposal. Kendra added, “I’m overwhelmed with joy and astonishment. There are countless words I wish to express, but all I can say is shocked.”
Since then, they have added four children to their family: Garrett, who was born in June 2018, Addison, born in November 2019, Brooklyn, born in February 2019, and Justus, born in May 2023.
Eighth in line, Josiah was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
A few months after their relationship became known, the couple announced their engagement in March 2018. In a statement, he mentioned that the location where he proposed to Lauren was the very same spot where her parents got engaged. This property holds a lot of family history, making it a significant and special place for Lauren.
Michelle, who will be Lauren’s mother-in-law in the future, expressed her affection in a video on their blog, saying “Lauren is such a treasured girl that we adore.” Jessa and Ben joined in with congratulations, along with chocolates molded into X’s and O’s. Michelle hinted at an enticing reward if they were to visit, holding up the sweet treat as a token of comfort, suggesting “I think you two want to save your first kiss for your wedding day, but if you drop by here, we’ll give you…”
In the summer of 2015, a past relationship with Marjorie Jackson ended amicably, and they chose different paths. As Josiah shared with People magazine in March 2016, he fondly remembered their time together: “We were merely trying to discern God’s guidance on everything. It seemed that she didn’t feel it was the appropriate moment for us then, so we took a break for a while.”
In June of 2018, I was blessed to exchange vows with my lovely partner, Lauren, on what turned out to be the most wonderful day we could have ever imagined. Fast forward to November 2019, we were overjoyed to welcome our first child, Bella Milagro, into our family. The name means “miracle baby,” a fitting title considering we had experienced a miscarriage the previous year in October 2018. In 2022, we expanded our family further with the arrival of another daughter, Daisy, and then in May 2023, our precious son, Ezra, joined us. It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel incredibly grateful for each addition to our loving family.
The ninth Duggar sibling was born Oct. 28, 1997.
She knew Austin for 15 years as a friend before he started courting her—after which they didn’t waste any time. He proposed in February 2017 and they married on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Ark. (the wedding where Joseph proposed to Kendra!). They welcomed son Gideon Martin Forsyth on Feb. 23, 2018.
In 2019, Joy-Anna suffered a pregnancy loss with a baby girl at 20 weeks along.
On Aug. 21, 2020, the couple welcomed daughter Evelyn Mae Forsyth.
The couple’s third child, son Gunner James Forsyth, was born on May 17, 2023.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s second set of twins were born on Dec. 30, 1998.
In February 2017, it was announced that Jed had interned at the state capitol, working for the Arkansas House of Representatives. At just 21 years old, he is now running for State Representative in District 89, with a focus on upholding Springdale’s conservative values. He tied the knot with Katey Nakatsu in April 2021 after a year of courting. They have since welcomed two children: son Truett, born in May 2022, and daughter Nora Kate, born in June 2023.
As a passionately devoted fan, let me share that I am none other than Jeremiah, a duly certified flight instructor who shares my life with the extraordinary Hannah Wissmann. Together, we are blessed guardians to our precious daughters Brynley, born in the chill of December 2022, and Brielle, who graced us with her presence in February 2024.

In January 2017, as reported by the Daily Mail, Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a $33,000 fixer-upper property in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the Duggar family’s main residence. Remarkably, he then launched his own construction business despite his busy schedule, and still found time to support Jed in his campaign.

Charmed No. 13, James arrived on July 7, 2001.
On his 19th birthday in the year 2019, his mother penned a note expressing that he is more like a “fun uncle” to all the younger lads around here, who admire him and aspire to emulate him. James has an amazing ability to accomplish nearly anything he dreams up. As children, we often discovered James tinkering with various household appliances. He’s always been one to disassemble things, understand their inner workings, and then reassemble them—with a few unique adjustments!
I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing James’ relentless determination this year as he pursued his CDL. His dedication and perseverance are truly inspiring! Now that he’s mastered driving big trucks and heavy machinery, it’s evident that he’s an expert in his field. I can’t help but feel excited about what lies ahead for him, knowing the incredible potential he possesses. The future is bright for this talented individual, and I eagerly await to see where his skills will take him!

In September 2020, Justin made their relationship with Claire known to the public. They became engaged in November of the same year, and on February 26, 2021, they tied the knot.
Here with his big sister Jill, Jim Bob and Michelle’s 15th child was born May 23, 2004.
On his sixteenth birthday, Michelle, Jackson’s mom, commended his wit and mentioned that she was well aware of his eagerness to obtain a driver’s license.
Duggar baby No. 16 was born Oct. 11, 2005.
Michelle posted on Johannah’s 15th birthday in 2020 that this girl is full of life and enjoys meeting new people. Her younger sisters hold her in high regard, believing she is a celestial figure, and Michelle feels incredibly blessed by God for being her mother!
As a lifestyle enthusiast, allow me to share an interesting fact: I remember vividly when my life in the limelight began. It was on August 2, 2007, marking the day that the world got to know me, Jennifer Duggar, as the youngest member of the Duggar family. At that time, our reality show was simply titled “17 Kids and Counting.”
Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
Michelle wrote celebrating her daughter, Jennifer, on her 13th birthday: “Jennifer is reliable, devoted… and always lively! She’s adored by her nieces, nephews, who often cling to her because they don’t want her to set them down. Not only that, but Jennifer has a unique affection for animals and diligently cares for her pets daily. In fact, she recently played a significant role in nurturing a brood of 7 little bunnies!”
Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.
2019 saw Jordyn-Grace being described as an outgoing young lady who can instantly connect with anyone, accompanied by a hearty laughter that frequently illuminates our days, with a chuckle.
As an over-the-moon fanatic, I proudly hold my precious niece Meredith, a miracle baby born on the 10th of December, 2009 – three months ahead of schedule and tipping the scales at just 1 pound, 6 ounces. Josie, as we fondly call her, spent six long months in the neonatal intensive care unit but today, she’s thriving and filled our lives with joy!
