As I read through Michelle’s heartfelt posts about her daughters Jenni, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie, I can’t help but be moved by their unique stories and the love that radiates from every word. Each girl brings a special light to their family, and it’s clear that they are cherished beyond measure.
Jana Duggar is counting on herself these days.
Recently, the former star of “19 Kids and Counting” shared that she has left her parents’ residence in Springdale, Ark., as shown during a recent tour of her new home in Arkansas.
In one of my YouTube videos uploaded on July 15, I expressed that I’ve been living in this place for quite some time now. Initially, it was among the city’s temporary business structures. Consequently, we managed to secure a fantastic deal when they put it up for auction.
Initially, the space in the structure was all open and large. However, Jana mentioned that she managed to transform it into a cozy one-bedroom living quarters, which could be described as a small house.
In my small living quarters, I don’t have the luxury of a full-sized stove. However, I make do with a trusty microwave and two convenient sinks in the compact kitchenette. One is designated for meal preparation, while the other caters to hand-washing duties since my bathroom only accommodates essentials like a toilet and shower.
“It is somewhat oddly configured,” she noted of her bathroom. “But then, it was a front porch.”
Because her house had a limited area, Jana mentioned that she needed to use her imagination when it came to decorating, even employing a movable screen for movie nights with her nieces and nephews.
Despite being 34 years old, she found creative ways to incorporate live plants and a whimsical monkey toy, teasingly referred to as a gift from her “beau.”
She laughed and corrected, “Nope, only teasing,” she explained, adding that the present was from her brother James Duggar. “Once he startled me by saying, ‘Jana, I have a surprise for you! A new companion!'”
If Jana didn’t mention whether she was currently in a relationship or not, she fueled engagement speculation by being spotted with a silver ring on her left hand while in South Carolina.
However, the piece of jewelry was nowhere to be seen in her house tour.
In her own words, Jana has consistently expressed her preference for privacy when it comes to her romantic life. As she put it during a 2020 episode of “Counting On,” this question – “Are you in a relationship?” – is asked of her quite frequently these days.
She added, “At times, it feels repetitive and there are moments when I think, ‘Is this really all there is to discuss?'”

The high school sweethearts, now grandparents of more than thirty-five children, include both the parents of a nineteen-year-old and their grandparents.
Michelle shares her experience of being “rescued” at the age of 15. One evening, Jim Bob went door-to-door for his Baptist church and was directed to the Ruark household by a friend who mentioned that “this teenager from school who recently had a religious conversion and is on the cheerleading team” resided there.
I was thrilled when Michelle joined us at church for Sunday school last year. Jim Bob shared that he had prayed to God for the chance to guide her spiritually, even though their initial encounter didn’t leave a strong impression on Michelle. Fast forward to present day, and I found myself working alongside Michelle at the family-owned frozen yogurt shop.
At Shiloh Christian, they went to a dinner together, but it wasn’t until later that night, when they spent hours talking about the Bible at her parents’ house, that Michelle felt a strong connection with Jim Bob. As she recalled, “Our hearts became one from there.” They both graduated high school in May 1984 and got married in July, making Michelle only 17 and Jim Bob 19 years old at the time.
The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob served as a former Arkansas House representative for the sixth district from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure, he held the position of vice chair in the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. However, his bids for higher offices did not yield success. In 2002, he ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. Senate during the primaries. Similarly, his attempt to become the Republican nominee for Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006 also ended without achieving the desired outcome.
He and Michelle, two real estate professionals with conservative beliefs, have been actively involved in this political stance, earning them both dedicated fans and critics through their association with the reality TV series “19 Kids and Counting.” A robocall recorded by Michelle in 2014 opposed a proposed anti-discrimination ordinance in Fayetteville. In her message, she cautioned listeners about the potential risks of allowing transgender individuals to use restrooms according to their gender identity. This call sparked a Change.org petition aiming to cancel the show in response.
The city council approved the ordinance.
The eldest Duggar child, Josh, entered the world on March 3, 1988. Likewise, he engaged in activism, advocating for conservative causes through his work with the Family Research Council.
In 2015, police records from the past became public which contained allegations against him. He was accused of inappropriately touching several girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill, during his teenage years. Jessa spoke out in defense of her brother during an interview with Fox News that same year. She maintained that the accusations were exaggerated and untrue, as she too was a victim.
During the scandal in 2015, his wife stood by him even after he confessed to infidelity. His parents viewed his entrance into a treatment center in 2016 as an essential initial move towards recovery and healing. This family of seven – daughter Mackynzie (born Oct. 8, 2009), sons Michael (June 15, 2011) and Marcus (June 2, 2013) – experienced a crisis when the scandal broke. Anna gave birth to their fourth child, Meredith, on the same day TLC canceled “19 Kids.” Their fifth child, Mason Garett, was born in September 2017, followed by Maryella Hope in November 2019, and Madyson Lily in October 2021.
As an obsessed fan, I’d put it like this: Back in April 2021, my world came crashing down when I learned that my idol, Josh, was indicted on federal charges. Specifically, he was accused of receiving and possessing child pornography – two counts each. In shock, I watched as he pleaded not guilty to both offenses. But, unfortunately, the tide turned against him in 2022. He was found guilty on both counts and received a sentence of 12 and a half long, agonizing years behind bars. It’s been a heart-wrenching journey for me as a fan.
After Josh’s birth, Michelle became pregnant once more, but unfortunately experienced a miscarriage. As they mourned this loss and sought wisdom from above, the unexpected news came that they were expecting twins.
She shared with Love to Know that we considered it a fortunate occurrence. God was providing us comfort during this learning experience. It’s quite unconventional since I nurse my babies, yet my kids are so close in age. I have one baby and then, eight months later, I’m pregnant again. This is just another unexpected way the Lord has chosen to be involved in our circumstances.
John-David and his sister Jana were born on Jan. 12, 1990.
After years of being acquainted yet without a formal relationship, John-David and Abbie had a rapid courtship leading to a brief engagement. They exchanged marriage vows on November 3, 2018. Subsequently, they became parents to their first child, Grace Annette Duggar, born on January 7, 2020, followed by the arrival of their second child, Charlie Duggar, in September 2022.
When I turned 30 in January 2020, my twin brother John-David sent me a heartfelt message. He shared with me a secret we’ve kept hidden for years – the uncanny connection between us. People often asked if we had that special bond where one feels another’s emotions or thoughts. I always denied it, but now I can truthfully say, “Yes, it’s real!”
Jana went on, “It’s such a joy to see you and Abbie in action as parents. You both seem so natural at it! The very traits that make you an excellent sibling will undoubtedly make you an outstanding father.”
In her personal life, Jana acknowledges that being unmarried at the age of 30 is not exceptional in general. However, she feels somewhat out of the norm within her own family circle. A few years ago on “Counting On,” Jana expressed, “Different men have approached me, but none have felt quite right. It’s an odd phase – I’m no longer young and single, yet not an older, married woman with children.”
I was born on May 17, 1991. My love story bears a resemblance to my parents’. On Christmas 2011, I crossed paths with Derick for the first time. He happened to visit our home while caroling with his church group, which was just a short 45-minute drive from where I grew up.
Jim Bob acted as a go-between, facilitating the budding relationship between Jill and Derick. Through frequent emails and Skype conversations, their connection deepened. In November 2013, they traveled to Nepal for Jill to meet Derick in person, and their bond grew even stronger. In February 2014, Derick requested Jim Bob’s permission to marry Jill, leading to their wedding on June 21, 2014. They are now proud parents to three sons: Israel (born April 6, 2015), Samuel (born July 8, 2017), and Frederick (born July 7, 2022).
In April 2024, Jill announced sadly that she had experienced a miscarriage, depriving them of their first-born daughter.
The couple appeared on “19 Kids and Counting” and then continued with “Counting On,” but Derick was let go from the show in 2017 due to his derogatory comments about another TLC reality star, Jazzy Jennings, which were considered homophobic.
As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but ponder over the intriguing controversies and deep-rooted religious beliefs that were spotlighted in the Amazon Prime Video documentary, “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets,” which aired back in June 2023.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child was born Nov. 4, 1992.
I’ve always been a hopeless romantic, and when Jessa met Ben through church back in 2013, I was completely captivated by their story. Their courtship took me back to an era I thought had long vanished from modern romance. You see, unlike what we often see on TV, they didn’t keep their relationship a secret from the world, but rather shared it with their families and communities.
In August 2014, Ben asked for Jessa’s hand in marriage and proposed. They sealed their commitment by holding hands for the first time. Their wedding took place on November 1, 2014. When Jessa was pregnant with their first child, TLC aired a special about sexual abuse to inform viewers further. Jill and Jessa became the focus of their own show, “Jill and Jessa: Counting On,” that winter. Later, the title changed to simply “Counting On,” which featured other Duggar siblings as well.
During this time, Jessa and Ben had four children: Spurgeon, born on November 5, 2015; Henry, born on February 6, 2017; Ivy Jane, born on May 28, 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. Sadly, Jessa experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holiday season. However, she went on to have her fifth child, named George, in December 2023.
The sixth Duggar child was born Dec. 21, 1993.
I met Jinger and Jeremy in Laredo, Texas, while we were both involved in ministry work back in 2016. We hit it off and started dating not long after. Our wedding took place on November 5, 2016, which happened to be the birthday of my nephew Spurgeon – quite a coincidence! However, soon after tying the knot, we found ourselves facing pregnancy rumors.
In a June 2017 episode of “Counting On,” Jinger shared that she and her husband likely would continue living in Laredo and serving in ministry there for the next year. They aimed to remain dedicated to the Lord and find ways to serve Him effectively.
I’ve read about a family whose life was filled with both joy and sadness around the year 2018. They welcomed their beautiful daughter Felicity into the world on July 19th, bringing them immense happiness. However, just before that, they had kept a secret: Jinger, one of the parents, had experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage the previous fall.
I was born on January 20, 1995. Later in life, I met Kendra at church. The romantic atmosphere of my sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017 provided the perfect setting for me to ask for her hand in marriage, after only a few short months of dating.
Joseph shared with People magazine that he was certainly anxious before proposing, but he didn’t fear a rejection from Kendra because she had previously expressed, “I’m just waiting for you.” After the proposal, an elated Kendra exclaimed, “I’m so happy and utterly surprised. I have so many things I want to say, but right now, I’m just shocked.”
Since then, they have had three children: Garrett, born in June 2018, Addison born in November 2019, Brooklyn born in February 2019, and Justus born in May 2023.
Eighth in line, Josiah was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
Approximately half a year had passed since the news of John’s relationship with Lauren became public knowledge. In March 2018, they shared their happy news of getting engaged. According to him, “The location where I asked Lauren to marry me is the very same spot where her parents got engaged.” He added in his statement, “This property holds a rich family history for Lauren, making it an exceptionally meaningful place for her.”
Michelle, who will be Lauren’s mother-in-law in the future, expressed her love for Lauren in a blog post featuring a video, saying “Lauren is a dear girl to us.” Jessa and Ben added their well-wishes as well, along with some chocolate shaped like X’s and O’s. Michelle then suggested, while holding up the treats, “I think you two might want to save your first kiss for your wedding day, but if you come over here, we have a little something to console you instead.”
Marjorie Jackson and I had a past relationship which ended amicably in the summer of 2015. According to Josiah, our time together was enjoyable, but we both felt that we weren’t ready to commit based on God’s guidance at that moment. Therefore, we decided to take a break from each other. On June 30, 2018, He and Lauren got married in a beautiful ceremony that they described as “perfect” to People magazine. Later, on Nov. 8, 2019, they were blessed with their first child, Bella Milagro, whose name means “miracle baby.” This came after the unfortunate experience of a miscarriage Lauren had experienced in October 2018. In 2022, they welcomed another daughter, Daisy, and in May 2023, they welcomed their first son, Ezra.
The ninth Duggar sibling was born Oct. 28, 1997.
For fifteen years prior to his proposal, she had known Austin as a dear friend. Once he began pursuing her, there was no delay in their relationship progression. He popped the question in February 2017 and they exchanged vows on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church located in Rogers, Arkansas. The joyous occasion where Austin proposed to her! Their firstborn child, Gideon Martin Forsyth, entered their world on February 23, 2018.
In 2019, Joy-Anna suffered a pregnancy loss with a baby girl at 20 weeks along.
On Aug. 21, 2020, the couple welcomed daughter Evelyn Mae Forsyth.
The couple’s third child, son Gunner James Forsyth, was born on May 17, 2023.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s second set of twins were born on Dec. 30, 1998.
In February 2017, I had the opportunity to intern at my dad’s former workplace, the Arkansas House of Representatives. At just 21 years old, I found myself on the ballot, running for State Representative in District 89, with a strong commitment to upholding Springdale’s conservative values. A year later, in April 2021, I exchanged vows with my beloved partner, Katey Nakatsu. Our family grew with the addition of our son Truett, born in May 2022, and our daughter Nora Kate, who joined us in June 2023.
Jeremiaih, who holds a flying instructor certificate, is married to Hannah Wissmann, and they have two children: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, who came into the world in February 2024.
Duggar child No. 12 was born on April 21, 2000.
In January 2017, according to the Daily Mail’s report, Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a $33,000 property in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the Duggar family estate. Later on, he established his own construction company. However, despite his new business endeavor, Jim Bob made time to support Jed during his campaign.

Charmed No. 13, James arrived on July 7, 2001.
When James turned 19 in the year 2019, his mother expressed, “He is the beloved ‘fun uncle’ among us, and all the younger lads in the neighborhood admire him and aspire to follow in his footsteps. James possesses an extraordinary ability to accomplish whatever he sets his mind to. As children, we were constantly amazed by James’ tinkering with various household appliances. He has always had a knack for disassembling things, understanding their inner workings, and reassembling them with unique enhancements!”
I have witnessed James’ dedication and hard work this year as he pursued his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). His determination was evident every day, as he spent countless hours practicing and studying to master the art of operating big trucks and heavy machinery. Now, with his newfound expertise, I am in awe of his abilities. The way he handles these vehicles with ease and confidence is truly impressive.
No. 14 arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.

In September 2020, Justin announced his relationship with Claire to the public. They became engaged in November of the same year, and on February 26, 2021, they exchanged wedding vows.
Here with his big sister Jill, Jim Bob and Michelle’s 15th child was born May 23, 2004.
When Jackson turned sixteen, his mother Michelle commended his great sense of humor and expressed that she was certain he couldn’t contain his excitement any longer for obtaining his driver’s license.
Duggar baby No. 16 was born Oct. 11, 2005.
Michelle expressed, “On Johannah’s 15th birthday in 2020, this girl brought joy and excitement, making new friendships came naturally to her. Her younger sisters idolize her, believing she is simply marvelous. I feel blessed beyond words to be her mother.”
On August 2, 2007, No. 17 joined our family. At that time, our show “17 Kids and Counting” had just begun, making Jenni the youngest member of the clan.
Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
I can’t help but gush about Jennifer! When my dear girl turned thirteen, I penned down my feelings: dependable, loyal, and a blast to be around. She’s the life of the party among the nieces and nephews, always carrying one around because they can’t bear to let her go. And animals hold a special place in her heart – she’s devotedly caring for her beloved pets every single day! Just recently, she went above and beyond, helping to raise a precious litter of seven little bunnies.

In 2019, Jordyn-Grace was described by her mother as a sociable girl who easily makes friends with new people, adding that her laughter brings joy and brightness to their days.
Meredith, Josie’s niece born on December 10, 2009, came into the world three months early and weighed a tiny 1 pound and 6 ounces. Despite her early arrival, she faced numerous challenges in the neonatal intensive care unit for six long months. Now, however, she is thriving and doing wonderfully well.
