Janelle Brown keeps son Garrison Brown close to her heart.
A full year has passed since the son of the famous “Sister Wives” star took his life at 25 years old. Recently, Janelle provided insights into how she is coping with her sorrow and preserving his legacy.
In every tranquil instant, you’re the one I think of most,” she wrote on her March 5 post. “A whole year has passed, and yet the longing remains. I still miss you deeply.
She also offered fans a way to give back in his honor.
Janelle suggested that anyone reading this thinks about contributing to their nearby animal shelter, rescue, or humane organization,” she said. “This matter was personally significant for Garrison – he gave loving homes to all three of his cats by adopting them from shelters.
In the picture she posted, Garrison is clearly seen with a smile on his face, cradling one of his cats against his shoulder.
The photograph that she uploaded shows Garrison grinning while supporting one of his feline companions on his shoulder.
In the image, I found a quote from the movie “Dragonheart” (1996) that read, “Bowen, reach for the stars.” This line was speaking directly to me as a devoted follower.
Hey there! As a die-hard fan of Janelle (mother to Logan Brown, 30, Madison Brush, 29, Hunter Brown, 27, Gabriel Brown, 24, and Savanah Brown, 20, from her past relationship with Kody), I wanted to highlight that she ended her post by providing the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline’s contact information. If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out to them for support. Let’s all look after each other during these tough times!
Over the past year following Garrison’s demise, Janelle has found solace in spending important occasions like the first Thanksgiving without Garrison with her loved ones and friends.
She penned on Dec. 1, “Our first major holiday season without you, my dear,” accompanied by a younger image of Garrison. “We all came together in North Carolina for the celebrations, and we always held your picture near.
Janelle went on, sharing laughter over your quirky wit and recounting tales that celebrated you. We feasted, played games, and savored the time together. Now everyone’s heading home, with routine life set to resume tomorrow. Yet, I can still sense your presence with me.
For his part, Kody has spoken to navigating his own grief.
Speaking from personal experience, relinquishing the vision of his future was the most challenging aspect. I confided this to People magazine in September. The sensation of losing a child is distinct, unlike any other loss I’ve experienced with a friend or relative passing. It’s unique. And it’s unique because the missed future with him feels irreplaceable – an irreconcilable absence.
