Everyone seems to be talking about Janette Manrara, since she is poised to launch her career in musical theater with the UK tour of Chicago, following her roles on Strictly Come Dancing and It Takes Two.
In this production, the accomplished dancer will assume the part of Roxie Hart during the musical’s tour, which covers more than 20 stages throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Manrara will soon take over the main female character from Faye Brooks, who currently portrays the role in Coronation Street together with Kevin Clifton, another Strictly Come Dancing performer, as Billy Flynn.
In this production, Djalenga Scott takes on the role of Velma Kelly, with Joshua Lloyd playing Amos Hart, while Jordan Lee Davies portrays Mary Sunshine. Notably absent are the cast members for Mama Morton and Billy Flynn, roles we anticipate will be filled by well-known personalities in the near future.
According to the latest updates, Manrara expressed his joy saying, “It’s like a dream come true! To make my musical theatre debut as the legendary Roxie Hart is thrilling. She is a fascinatingly intricate character, and I can hardly wait to portray my version of Roxie on stage.
I am thrilled at the prospect of collaborating with an exceptional cast and the entire crew of one of the most remarkable musicals ever made. I can’t wait to meet everyone who attends the performance and put on a truly captivating show that will leave them amazed!
Here’s how you can get your hands on tickets.
