Japanese VTuber Usada Pekora Is in Death Stranding 2, and We Don’t Know Why

Although somewhat unusual, these elements functioned effectively as they were grounded in real characters. Recognizing the individuals involved made it fun to discover hidden references (Easter eggs); otherwise, they seemed harmonious with the rest of the context.

Contrary to some characters, Usada Pekora, a renowned Japanese Virtual YouTuber, stands out as she’s set to embody a prepper in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, rather than repeating the roles of her predecessors.

If you’re not already familiar, let me fill you in: Peko-chan is a Hololive streamer who sports bunny ears and carrots woven into her pigtails. In the video clip above, our main character Sam encounters just that!

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t deny that promoting Death Stranding 2 to Peko-chan fans is undeniably beneficial for its visibility. However, it’s hard not to feel like the anime character in this trailer feels somewhat misplaced or unrelated to the game’s usual vibe, if you catch my drift.

It’s possible that every game created by Kojima has included some unusual or jarring instances. However, these moments might be best approached as part of the overall experience, rather than being overly critical about them.
