Jason Momoa and Adria Arjona: A Love Story That Crosses Superhero Universes!

After announcing their separation in January 2022, following 16 years together and four years of marriage, Jason Momoa didn’t wait long before re-entering the world of dating.

However, the actor renowned for playing Aquaman didn’t enter another significant relationship until he came across his current partner, Adria Arjona, who starred in Morbius. Together they have a 17-year-old daughter named Lola and a 16-year-old son.

That’s right, Momoa crossed the DC-Marvel divide to find love.

At first, he seemed hesitant or secretive about who his girlfriend was, possibly wanting to maintain their privacy for as long as it could be sustained.

On May 11, during the Basingstoke Comic Con in England, he stated, “I’m quite happily involved with someone special,” and added, “You won’t have to wait long to know more about it.

Indeed, nine days later, he confirmed their relationship on Instagram by sharing a cozy picture of them dining with friends in Japan, along with another image capturing their joyous expressions amidst the turbulent sea and wind, as well as one featuring the Puerto Rican-Guatemalan actress posing beneath a glowing Harley-Davidson Cycles sign.

It’s not surprising at all that Arjona shares the same passion for large motorbikes as Momoa does, given that he isn’t only a devoted rider but also a collector of both vintage and custom motorcycles.

45-year-old Momoa, who acknowledged in 2022 that it’s challenging to part ways while under public scrutiny, has been dating for the first time as a well-known figure. This Honolulu native met Bonet back in 2005, during his early days on Stargate Atlantis, before he became widely recognized for his four-season role and later his breakout success in Game of Thrones.

In 2023, Arjona parted ways with her lawyer spouse, Edgardo Canales, ending a four-year marriage and finding herself single once more after several years.

In a surprising turn of events, it seems that our world isn’t so big as the 32-year-old actor has now become part of Zoë Kravitz’s first directorial project, titled “Blink Twice”. Filming for this project commenced in June 2022. This is intriguing given that she was once a cast member in Jason Momoa’s family, specifically his former stepdaughter.

Despite attending the 2022 premiere of “The Batman” to support Kravitz (post-split from Bonet), Momoa didn’t make an appearance at the “Blink Twice” premiere in August of last year. His statement then was, “It’s still family.

She expressed that her goal is to present diverse portrayals of what a Latin American woman can embody on screen. By introducing unique, unconventional characters, she aims to challenge and break free from the traditional stereotypes often associated with Latin American women. This is her contribution to the project.

In a winter 2024 interview discussion with Powell, she shared that to counteract the temptation of taking on a dark role, she tends to keep close those she cherishes and trusts, who also bring humor into her life. As long as she’s laughing, she can endure most challenges.

It seems they both possess a spiritual inclination, as Arjona shared with Powell: “I do maintain certain rituals,” she said. “I’m often accompanied by a small piece of palo santo. I carry talismans I’ve created myself, which bring me good luck.

Inquired about a time when she felt like she was truly forging her own way, either personally or professionally, Arjona shared with Harper’s Bazaar in an interview on June 3 that she is continually evolving and adapting, just like everyone else.

She clarified, “Society often leads us to believe that we’re defined by a single aspect, but in reality, we’re complex individuals with numerous capabilities. We can be so much more than just one thing. Thus, I believe over time, you naturally evolve into the authentic version of yourself that you desire to reveal to the world.

Speaking of walking on red carpets, she admitted, “I often need to wear a mask. Fashion serves that purpose for me. I feel the need to don armor, and it’s the same with photo shoots. I rely on others’ creativity to evoke emotions in me, as if not, I’d be overwhelmed and shake like a small dog afterward.

With her career evolving in an unusual direction, and given her ambivalent sentiments towards the public aspect of her profession, it’s no surprise that she and Momoa are proceeding cautiously when it comes to declaring their commitment to each other.

Momoa hasn’t accompanied her (yet) to a nerve-wracking red carpet event with him, but in October, he did leave some heart emojis on her Instagram comments without attempting to stay out of sight.

Indeed, everyone is eagerly anticipating the world premiere of Jason Momoa’s “A Minecraft Movie” in London on March 30th. Many will be watching closely to see if he arrives with a companion by his side.
