As a gamer who’s been through countless cancellations of beloved shows, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment at the news of Kaos’ demise on Netflix. Just when we were getting to know the eccentricities of Zeus and Prometheus, it seems we’ll have to bid farewell to them prematurely.

The show titled “Kaos,” starring Jeff Goldblum, has been canceled on Netflix, leaving fans surprised by this unexpected development. According to Variety, the series will not proceed with a second season as initially planned. Given the impressive cast that was assembled for this project, it seemed likely there would be a follow-up. However, viewers are now left in suspense, questioning what became of Zeus and Prometheus following the comedic events of Season 1. In total, only eight episodes were released as part of the initial season launch. Regrettably, Charlie Covell’s latest creation will not get the chance to unfold its planned conclusion.

In addition to the main cast, Aurora Perrineau played Eurydice, Cliff Curtis took on the role of Poseidon, David Thewlis was Hades, Janet McTeer portrayed Hera, Rakie Ayola brought Persephone to life, Killian Scott played Orpheus, Leila Farzad was Ariadne, Debi Mazar became Medusa, Nabhaan Rizwan starred as Dionysus, Stephen Dillane embodied Prometheus, Misia Butler depicted Caeneus, Mat Fraser portrayed Daedalus, Stanley Townsend assumed the role of Minos, Billie Piper was cast as Cassandra, Suzy Eddie Izzard became Lachesis, and Cathy Tyson took on Alecto, among others.

After the news spread, Aurora Perrineau, who played Eurydice, shared some initial thoughts on Instagram. However, she later removed a heartfelt message expressing gratitude to her fans for their support. It’s never easy, emotionally, to part ways with a project that you’ve invested so much effort into over such an extended period. Here’s what Perrineau had to share: [Link to the post]

KAOS Says Goodbye After 1 Season

“Well… this one hurts. I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try…. When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all – every flaw, everything,” she wrote. “For one of the first times in my life, I have found myself really proud. I’m, of course, proud of everyone’s work and the care they gave to this project, because, let me tell you, they left everything on the floor. But I’ve also found myself proud of me, and that is something I’ve struggled with.”

When I landed the role, it seemed unreal to me,” Perrineau continued. “A woman who’s both a minority and a survivor of SA, and they thought I could be the main character with my own purpose, power, and attractive enough for not just one but two leading characters? Did I really deserve that? All that followed reshaped my outlook.

During our voyage onward, I discovered an extraordinary array of skills – it wasn’t just Charlie that impressed. Later, I found out about our directors, Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo. The adventure unfolded with a remarkable cast; there are too many to list, but I must highlight the three who turned into my cherished friends, family, and pillars of support as we traversed Spain for several months: Misia Butler, Nabhaan Rizwan, and Killian Scott.

She pondered, “Our fantastic HMU department, costume department, Sister, Netflix, our production team and our entire crew – each and every person involved was a powerhouse. And here I was, questioning how? Why me? But the response I usually received was: why not you? Everyone was outstanding and authentic in their own way. Every performance left me amazed and thrilled. I can’t believe I had the chance to do this with all of you. We created something strange, dark, funny, disturbed, and utterly tragic – something truly human. THIS is an emotion I intend to keep close. Thank you for allowing me to be your Riddy. I had an unforgettable experience.
