Originally from Sierra Leone, Michaela and her sister Mia were adopted by their family in New Jersey. Their parents subsequently enrolled Michaela at the Rock School of Dance in Philadelphia. After that, she attended the American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of Ballet. In 2012, she became a member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Additionally, Michaela has danced for the Dutch National Ballet, and in 2021, she joined the Boston Ballet as a leading dancer.
