Jessica Simpson is working through her breakup.
The artist behind the popular song “With You” disclosed that several tracks on her forthcoming EP, titled “Nashville Canyon: Part 1“, were penned during the dissolution of her 10-year marriage to Eric Johnson.
In an interview with her sister Ashlee Simpson, published by The Cut on February 20th, Jessica shared that the heart-wrenching sorrow she experienced was not only the deepest pain of her life but also the most powerful and illuminating therapeutic journey she’s ever encountered.
The actress from “The Dukes of Hazzard” (who has children Maxwell (12), Ace (11), and Birdie (5) with Eric) later acknowledged her estranged husband’s assistance as she worked on a five-song project in Nashville, expressing her gratitude for his support.
Jessica enthusiastically expressed that having the opportunity to focus on her creativity was a precious blessing. Eric, her family, and even Maxwell, who turned 12 recently, all encouraged and supported this gift. They were all in Nashville for Maxwell’s 11th birthday celebration.
The 44-year-old’s sentiments echo those that she’d previously expressed about her breakup.
In an interview with People, Jessica, who used to be married to Nick Lachey, expressed that she’s matured significantly and can manage more now. She mused, “Perhaps I’m destined to love many people throughout my life.
She mentioned, “I’m not sure what causes my emotions to fluctuate so dramatically, but I consider myself fortunate. I have my kids, and Eric is still an essential aspect of my life, forever present.
Meanwhile, Jessica and Eric resided in a rented house near Nashville with their children sometimes, during which Jessica focused on her project, Nashville Canyon. The artist behind “I Think I’m in Love With You” considered this work on new music as a personal exploration of hers.
She shared that she found this music independently, and Nashville played a crucial role for her, allowing her to embrace herself more fully and make a personal statement.
It was clear that Jessica and Eric were ending their relationship when, at the start of the year, she publicly declared their separation, thereby confirming earlier rumors about their impending breakup.
She shared with TopMob News on January 13 that Eric and I have been living apart while dealing with a difficult period in our marriage. The well-being of our kids is paramount, and we’re concentrating on making the best decisions for them.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of affection and encouragement that has reached us. At present, we cherish our privacy as we navigate through this challenging phase together as a family.
