As a longtime fan of rock legends, I can’t help but feel electrified by the upcoming graphic novel, “Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze.” Having grown up listening to Jimi’s music and marveling at his groundbreaking performances, the idea of diving deeper into his cosmic adventures is nothing short of mind-blowing.
Amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, Janie Hendrix, who is the step-sister of rock legend Jimi Hendrix and holds the position of President and CEO at Experience Hendrix, collaborated with DJ Ben Ha Meen, writer Mellow Brown, and artist Tom Mandrake to produce a graphic novel titled “Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze“. This original work will be available in stores starting August 27th. The story revolves around Jimi Hendrix’s engagement in a celestial conflict against malevolent cosmic entities, weaving a science-fiction mythology that bears resemblance to David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust persona. By creating this graphic novel, the team aims to introduce Jimi’s music and vibrant character to a fresh audience and a new generation.

Hendrix expressed that there’s no wrong moment for something perfect to happen. Since he first walked among us, we’ve been sharing his tale, and spiritually, he continues to do so. I believe he transcends time, and this novel we worked on for nearly two years during the pandemic is truly remarkable. People constantly seek hope, and I think that’s exactly what this book offers – hope and tranquility.
