The well-known Swiss socialite, recognized for her distinctive cat-like appearance due to cosmetic procedures, recently marked her daughter Diane Wildenstein’s birthday by sharing an old, pre-surgery photograph.

In the picture, Jocelyn, aged 82, is adorned with a full makeup look, yet it’s apparent she’s had fewer cosmetic treatments compared to others in her age group. Her eyes are wide, and her face appears more sculpted. Her daughter, currently in her forties, is seated on Jocelyn’s lap, and both women are smiling warmly at something off-camera.
Jocelyn, a well-known social figure, saw her star rise during her 1997 divorce from art dealer Alec Wildenstein. Together they had Diane and son Alec Jr. At that time, Jocelyn also attracted attention in the tabloids for her cosmetic surgeries, which earned her the nicknames “Catwoman” and “The Bride of Wildenstein.”
Her former spouse, who had a shared facelift with her in 1979 and later expressed concerns about her obsession with plastic surgery, deemed Jocelyn’s fixation excessive. In an interview with Vanity Fair in 1998, he stated, “She was clearly over the top.”
Initially, Jocelyn stated that her numerous improvements were due to Alec’s dislike of being with older people. However, she later confessed that she had grown to appreciate the company of older folks independently.
She informed Vanity Fair in 1998 that he had never forced me. Instead, he often remarked that I appeared quite youthful – right up until the moment when I no longer looked young enough!
Jocelyn’s intimate circle observed that she seemed to be striving for a ‘wildcat-like’ appearance through her surgeries. One confidential source shared with the publication, “I can’t recall a time when she wasn’t recuperating from some procedure.”
Nevertheless, Jocelyn found that the tabloid uproar played a role in securing one of the biggest divorce settlements ever recorded for her. Following Alec’s death in 2008, she received more than $2.5 billion from him. Later on, she expressed amusement towards the public’s obsession with her, especially her appearance.
In an interview with Interview magazine in 2023, she stated that journalists can express whatever thoughts or feelings they wish, and she herself doesn’t feel the need to correct any perceived contradictions since it’s not her concern. After denying having done everything when confronted directly, she implied she hasn’t done everything “all” in its entirety.
