Jodie Whittaker and Suranne Jones Unite for High-Stakes Heist Thriller Frauds

ITV unveiled a fresh heist-thriller series titled “Frauds.” Created by Suranne Jones and Anne-Marie O’Connor, it stars Suranne Jones along with the actress from Doctor Who, Jodie Whittaker.

Previously, Jones and O’Connor worked jointly on an ITV drama titled Maryland. Currently, they are teaming up again to produce a new series called Frauds, with scripts penned by O’Connor.

The show chronicles the character Sam, portrayed by Whittaker, who’s been leading a tranquil, inconspicuous existence in the rolling hills of southern Spain. Meanwhile, their swindling partner Bert, played by Jones, has been fantasizing about one final heist from within his Spanish prison cell.

After Bert receives a compassionate discharge due to his cancer diagnosis, he and the other person reconnect.

It seems that Bert finds herself without anyone else to rely on during her last few weeks, whereas Sam appears to be concealing emotions of guilt, as well as a past he’d like to leave behind.

As a passionate movie buff, I find myself drawn right back into the intricate and captivating dynamic between these two characters when Bert tries to coax Sam out of his peaceful retirement for an ultimate, high-stakes, art heist worth millions. Yet, the question lingers: What could possibly be the price we might have to pay?

Over the past two thrilling years, I’ve embarked on an exhilarating journey with Anne-Marie and Monumental, bringing our project Frauds to life. It’s been one heck of a rollercoaster ride!

We flipped the concept of harmful friendships between women, instead providing a heartfelt emotional core for the heist genre.

1) “It’s been a long-held dream of mine to collaborate with Jodie, and that dream has finally come true. I sincerely hope you share our enthusiasm for Bert, Sam, and their escapades just like we do.

Simultaneously, O’Connor stated that Suranne and she aimed to explore the significance and intensity of female friendships by utilizing the fast-paced heist genre.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt excitement at the prospect of collaborating once more with Monumental. To have Jodie on board along with Suranne feels like a fantasy come true!

The upcoming series is being helmed by Giulia Gandini, known for “The Split”, and the production has just started shooting scenes in Spain.

In the upcoming scene, you’ll find Whittaker appearing in Toxic Town, a Netflix dramatic series penned by Jack Thorne. As for Jones, she has an individual Netflix program on the horizon titled The Choice.
